It's HALO 3. An iconic classic and one of my favorite campaigns ever.

Favorite game in the series, and the first campaign I completed on my own. Great ending and some memorable missions. Felt truly next-gen and smooth on 360. Multiplayer and rockets felt great, as well.

I've only played multiplayer, but my cousins and I spent dozens of hours playing this in the summer it came out.

I mean this defined the 360 for the most part. It's a fucking beautiful game and Bungie/343 deserve all the praise they get for making this masterpiece.

thank u steam for finally letting me finish the fight again after several years

This is still the high point for the franchise as a whole imo. Not just in terms of campaign or multiplayer quality but all around hype. This game WAS my high school years and not a single entry since has consumed my life as thoroughly.

The campaign is short but it's mostly a blast from start to finish, especially with friends. Bungie refined the the open ended combat from the previous games to a mirror shine. Every single weapon and vehicle feels fun to use and there's so many ways to handle a situation. The battles with the mammoth Scarabs in particular are Halo at it's very best.

The only low-point in the campaign is the penultimate level, Cortna, which takes everything bad about some of Combat Evolved's level design and cranks it up to eleven. Overlong, samey hallways that are easy to get lost in and endless Flood hordes that aren't anywhere near as fun to fight as the Covenant. But it's not enough to hurt the experience, especially with the phenomenal final level right after.

Loved this game when i was fifteen, love it just as much well over a decade later. Can't wait to replay the campaign with my friends over and over again.

The best Halo campaign. Doesn't over stay its welcome like 2 and being able to play as Chief and Arbiter in co-op is a blast. Hope Halo Infinite is good but we already finished the fight back in 07.

Halo 3 is the second best in the trilogy - While the story is a step back from Halo 2's intrigue, the sandbox, AI, and encounter design more than make up for it. Multiplayer is classic, though not as satisfying as Combat Evolved.

I used to make fun of people that wanted to fuck the brutes but now I don't know who I am anymore

One of the most iconic games of all time, my childhood would never be the same if it weren't for halo

i have played this game to fucking death. hasn't gotten any worse since the day it came out. best halo campaign, best multiplayer, and all but limitless customization thanks to forge mode. endless fun with friends. greatest shooter ever made

Nostalgia prohibits me from criticizing too much.

Probably my least favorite of the original trilogy but still a damn fine game that deserves the praise. Truly excellent.

fucking perfect, nothing else to say about it

Good thing they never made any more Halo games after this one.

The second coming of Doom. An incredibly polished first person shooter with excellent large scale online multiplayer, an endless wealth of user-generated content (Forge) and a rich, generous, challening single-player campaign dripping in secrets... and co-op! Couch AND online co-op! It's the only way some people play! It is simply the total package, and everything in that package is clean as a whistle.

amazing game never played the campaign but i fuck with forge

I spent so much of my high school days playing this even though I wasn't any good. Dream Team Forever.

Across my multiple playthroughs on the 360, Xbox One, and now on PC, I still hold Halo 3 in relatively high regard, yet I still feel it to be a wholly overrated game. As a PC port, Halo 3's port over to a platform worth a damn is honestly fantastic; it runs buttery smooth, rarely ever had any sort of frame drops or any other performance issues. If you've never "finished the fight" and have a PC, Halo 3 is a must buy.

As for the multiplayer, it works, and I do like it quite a bit, but it's far from my favorite Halo multiplayer. MCC's addition to customize individual armor pieces is certainly a thankful addition (despite the fact it should've been in the collection day one back in 2014), but there are some notable performance issues on the PC port, primarily through some rather wonky latency. I'm not good at Halo multiplayer and have never claimed to be good in any of Halo's multiplayer modes, but there's some sketchy performance when it comes to trying to deliver headshots and just connecting shots altogether. 343 has addressed the latency issues and said they're working on it, but for now, the overall package is good, if not a tad flawed in some places. Still well worth a pickup.

The greatest Halo of all time. One of the most replayable couch-co op games ever made (and likely the best couch co op FPS). A great end to the trilogy. Still holds up today.

my favorite FPS multiplayer. i grew up on it! very happy it's on pc now... now just make it cross platform so i can play with my brother

mountain dew will never taste the same

Deadset never played the story of this game in my life. I've also never owned it.

But once i stayed at a friends place and we played SO MUCH OF THIS GAME that when i tried to go to sleep after what i think was like 18 hours of it i coudlnt stop thinking about it and i got really really scared that i was "addicted to it" because i was like 9 and a fucking idiot.

Much like the previous two games, Chips Dubbo is here and that's really all you need

had about 2000 hours in forge custom games alone probably. id give anything to go back to those times.
