Easily the best in the series. The gunplay has finally been improved and you no longer feel like you're shooing sheets of metal instead of an organic being. The story gets a MUCH needed boost too with the writing team of The Last of Us coming aboard. I actually felt involved and invested in a way the first three games never did. Rafe, Nadine and Sam aren't the one note characters we saw in the past games and really helped with the aforementioned immersion. A Thief's End even takes the piss out of some of the past games' writing too which I thought was kind of an own.
Platforming is given new depth and the combat arenas are much better, with enemies actually going down in a feasible amount of hits, and you no longer have to empty a full clip to kill someone. Better weapon variety and stealth helps here as well. Honestly being able to clear through a section entirely in stealth or being able to sneak past on your own terms was great. You also get complimentary commentary from whichever ally(s) you have with you on whatever route you DECIDE to go down, which is nice. Yeah, there's still lots of this game on rails but it succeeds in immersing you in these sections way better than any of the past three games. If all the games were of this quality it'd be arguably the best IP Sony have imo. I can honestly say that the shipwreck section from Drake's Deception and the jet ski section from Drake's Fortune were worth enduring for the story of this game to have more weight.

The things I could do to be able to play this game again for the first time. I've played it about four times now, tend to play it when I'm going through a funk or need some happiness in my life. I certainly have opinions on Neil Druckmann and the direction he wants to take a lot of stories but nothing about the almosts of this game ruin it for me and I'll be replaying it again I'm sure.
The ultimate prestige game. Perfectly paced. Combat encounters are challenging but not overly frustrating. Stealth feels more fun and viable than ever. Set pieces are memorable, and the more open ended vehicle sections are refreshing. Most importantly the story stands head and shoulders above anything else that Naughty Dog has made, and yes, I'm including The Last of Us.
It's definitely flawed but easily has the best set pieces and combat scenes in the whole series. Some of the cut scenes are really dragged out and oftentimes sitting down for an hour or so on it felt like I had 15 minutes of gameplay while the rest was pretty much watching a movie.
Love the flashbacks and it out does itself the cinematography. I do tire of Sam though, character annoyed me from the off and I was often pissed off I couldn't get rid of him. Could've done without the parts in the car and fannying around in the boat trying to find the island, other than that the graphics are amazing and some of the story aspects are epic, reminding you why you fell in love with the game and characters in the first place.

My personal favorite Uncharted game.
Uncharted 4 is the only Uncharted game with a compelling story arch. All the other games have compelling character dialogue but the over-arching story in each game is the same. Defeat the villains, find the mystical treasure. Uncharted 4 has the most growth within it's characters, the story behind the treasure reflects the conflict between said characters & it actually gives you a beautifully satisfying ending to Nathan's journey.

"Unbelievable."
"Yeah, it was."
Still the best game in the Uncharted franchise and peak Uncharted in general. Everything about this game improves on the previous three and then some, elevating the standard even higher than it has been. Not only is the gameplay refined, but so is the story telling and atmosphere.
One of the most emotional games I've ever played, and it packs even more punch having replayed the entire series consecutively back to back. The final few cutscenes made me shed a few tears, something games outside of Red Dead 2, TLOU1/2 and Telltale Walking Dead haven't largely been able to do.
As for the gameplay, I only really have one gripe, and that's that it isn't hard enough. Replayed this one on hard too and it felt very easy in comparison to it's predecessors. However, this isn't a complaint, because the combat is a lot more fun aside from the melee combat (which Uncharted 3 still holds the title for).
This game leaves me wanting more, beyond Lost Legacy, but Nate's story is over. I hope either Sam or Cassie comes back for Uncharted 5 if it's ever going to happen, because I feel like Naughty Dog is at the very tip of the iceberg with it's story telling when it comes to the Uncharted series. Sure, the other games are pretty solid, and I enjoy the stories in those too; but they do not come close to this.
