a pretty scary atmosphere, the AI have more IQ than me and i played all game shaking... It's an awesome game

One of the most brilliant worlds ever created for a game, wasted on some of the most flaccid, lifeless combat I've encountered in a AAA shooter. There are so many genuinely great ideas in this game but the combat lacks any feeling of weight or impact. Guns feel like pea shooters and melee feels like slapping enemies with a pool noodle. Plasmids could have been great but most of them are just things you shoot at enemies so they're hardly different from guns in practice.

It broke my heart a little to be so unenthused by Bioshock when it's one of the most highly acclaimed games ever, and everything outside of the gameplay is so rich and captivating, but when most of the game is shooting everything in your path, the way the guns feel will make or break the game. And Bioshock's shooting is just too limp and dull for me to enjoy. I also found its immersive sim leanings to be massively overstated by players. I will give it credit for having some ways to creatively strategize and interact with the environment, but it felt more like a mildly immersive sim-inspired shooter. It's generally very linear and the only way to progress is by shooting things with guns or shooting things with plasmids.

But I can see how it was an injection of boldness and ambition into the gaming landscape of 2007, so I can appreciate the impact it had at the time. Maybe it's one of those things where I had to be there to understand. That era was also a dearth of immersive sims, which didn't really pick up again until the early 2010s, so Bioshock's ideas were probably quite fresh compared to the other shooters of the time.

combat is fun and its such an interesting world, it didnt catch my attention that well but it was a fun time

The atmosphere in Bioshock was amazingly done, the enemy variety initially impressed me but the turrets and drones were very annoying to deal with. The addition of plasmids made a game a unique experience from other FPS games.
Story is also very good

The first Bioshock game was one I slept on for a while, only ever getting through the first level or so, but this is a great game and I wished that I had played it sooner.

Its gameplay loop is super tight and the environments and overall setting are super memorable. I've heard some people say the latter half is a bit of a schlep, but I didn't have too many issues with it

Would you kindly is the craziest plot twist ever

Esse jogo é bastante interessante em temática, história e narrativa. O que não me agradou tanto foi a gameplay. Esse jogo inclusive é bem legal que roda numas GPUs podres tipo Intel HD Graphics

The only game besides Half Life where no matter how many times i replay it, i never get bored because how good everything is

Best game to play great from start to end I cried at the ending. my brother told me to play this game it was great

Fantastic atmosphere in this game with such cool horror elements and fun gameplay. Although I do think the story drags a bit near the end but the ending was great so it balances out!

An iconic game, really, but is completely undermined by its second half, and the gameplay alone is not good enough to save it for me.
Rating: 6,25/10

A world under water, but you never fight a squid. I don't get the hype.

Dookie performance, otherwise 🐐

A huge case of didn't age great because of poor optimization for current hardware with the remaster (bugaboo galore, couldn't finish the game due to enemy bugging out of the level). Overall though still one of my favorite games of all time because of its story and atmosphere. It was fun to revisit those spooky vibes that terrified lil ol 9 year old me but yikesssss, Andrew Ryan seriously needs to get some meds or something. Straight up Kanye vibes and might be a Nazi.

Art meets Horror.
BioShock is a very special videogame experience, it's beautiful but grotesque, lighthearted but dark, comforting but scary. I'm glad I gave this game a chance, for its time, this is no doubt an amazing game and it aged pretty well in almost every way possible.

The story is clever and the characters are well written, and there are some interesting plot twists near the end. The only issues I personally have with the story itself is the fact that it's told mostly via audio logs, and the final act is somewhat underwhelming compared to how masterfully crafted the rest of the game is.

As for the gameplay, it's decent, shooting feels okay, and the plasmids are very useful, you can unlock new weapons and plasmids, gather Adam to upgrade your equipment, and many more.

Navigating through the world makes the game something like a small open world, there isn't much to do obviously, but there are so many ways to approach combat and get resources, it's worth exploring.

This game is really damn good and worth playing to this day, it's an enjoyable experience, and pretty much timeless.

Final Rating: "Great" ~ 8/10.

Why is it that bioshock games have the most stupid endings?

Sander Cohen has a nice ass

What a special game, it has the vibes and atmosphere of a true masterpiece. While it's controls aged rather.poorly, if you can manage to pass through the jank, it will be a hell of an experience!

one day i will learn that survival fps games are in nature just way too overwhelming for me. always felt like an outlier for never having played bioshock, the environment definitely made an impression on me but i genuinely just do not have the cognitive capabilities to be able to process what is going on in survival games ever. i hate not finishing games.
