So this is a game that I honestly had no intentions in playing. I'm not a giant pewdiepie fan by any means, but when you go with the gutless tact of copy right striking a youtuberr for no good reason, I do not want to support your game or studio. Eight years later however, with Studio Campos long gone, and this game on gamepass I decided to finally bite the bullet and give it a shot, since I've been told by a few people that this would be my kind of game.

And yeah it really was.

The game overall had a really intriguing narrative, with really two stories going on, the main character trying to escape his horribly depressing reality, and a mystery that's unfolding around you and getting lost in that, which I think kind of relates back to the first part. It's a fairly simple solution, something you should have seen all along, but you as the character really just wanted to dive head first, come up with giant conspiricies, and ignore the brutal reality of why you are there in the first place.

It's a somber ending too, one that's very thoughtful and I enjoyed. The gameplay isn't anything to write home about obviously as a "walking sim" but it keeps you engaged the entire time. I had a lot of little technical bugs and quirks, I'd get stuck often which broke the immersion for me, but nothing too awful overall.

Overall I really enjoyed this game. Thought it was great. I'll be deducting a half point for the developers being little babies, though.

So a 4/5, BUT 3.5/5 will be the final score. Be better folks.

Me encantó.

very cute! nice lil walking sim that i thematically adore but have some definite problems with

the first 2 or 3 chapters of this are actually pretty perfect. i really love delilah and henry's budding friendship which is the real focal point here; everything else that's brought up really grips you and it sets up a story that leaves you questioning so much and incredibly interested in finding out about henry's life before his new job and what's been happening while he's there. exploring is super fun and contains a lot of secrets and optional dialogue that, if you like henry and delilah as much as i do, makes this exploration outside of where you need to go super compelling and something you actually want to do

unfortunately the story doesn't really stick the landing nearly as well as it could have and it makes for an ending that finishes the game considerably weaker than how it started; certain aspects of the story (julia, the two girls at the lake) either end up not really being integral to the story or just end up being wrapped up in a way that makes its inclusion seemingly unnecessary. why was there so much talk about the two girls being missing if you learn in some offhandedly-said line that they just end up being found and none of their threats really ended up mattering? it almost feels like ironic foreshadowing that henry mentions feeling like everything feels like it should be connected somehow when that just simply doesn't happen. the stuff that is given a proper conclusion (basically anything introduced from chapter 3 onward) is also not too satisfying since you uncover a lot so slowly and then just stumble into the magic "this area contains the story" area (ned's bunker and the moments preceding it). it really feels lazy to end the story that has been building up with so much anticipation in a way that feels so cheap. it feels like they were given 2 weeks to end the game out of nowhere and they had to work with what they had and tie up loose ends that should have been fleshed out in another chapter or two.

aside from having a weak ending though this game was a very fun, cute experience that i'd recommend anyone play (it took me about 4-5 hours so why not) and i crave more content with these two characters carnally

A great time. I love pure story games like this so much. I think the themes are very tight but I understand why some people don't love this game. Hard to talk about without spoiling since the entire game is the story. It's often on sale, and takes 4 hours to finish so just play it so we can talk about it.

A wonderful story, great visuals and atmosphere. I quite liked just hiking around, doing small tasks, orienteering etc. The ending is a bit lackluster.

In the serene heart of Wyoming’s wilderness, "Firewatch" emerges as a beacon of storytelling. It’s a game that weaves solitude and mystery, where every dialogue crackles with personality, much like the twigs under a lone ranger’s boots. The artistry of its sunset hues and the depth of its narrative are a call to those who yearn for adventure. "Firewatch" is a journey of introspection, a melody of nature’s untouched beauty, and a testament to the power of human connection. It’s an experience that kindles the spirit and ignites the wanderlust in us all.

a really interesting story, fun little game about being a forest keeper. i played it in a bad moment and i had some sort of anxiety/panic attack at the end but ive grown past that and i remember the game as a fun time regardless of that.

very good experience, recommended

Great story. Subpar gameplay, just walking simulator with small interactions. More of a story experience that is still pretty good.

Yürüme kısımları olmasa 1-1.5 saatte bitebilecek bir hikayesi var. Ama gayet güzel. Oyunun sonunda geliştiricileri dinleyerek oynayabileceğiniz bir mod var. Göz atmanızı öneririm.

It has a story that could end in 1-1.5 hours if not for the walking parts. But it's pretty good. At the end of the game, there is a mode you can play by listening to the developers. I suggest you take a look.

Decent game with great dialogue. Slightly underwhelming ending.
