I've played this one way too much. It's got problems that one cas easily see contemporarily, but for its time, it's a perfect game. True classic and pioneer in third person adventure genre.

as far as zelda goes it's the jack-of-all trades and the master of none. of course it's a great video game but whatever your favorite part of this game is, it can be found much better in a different title.

Playing Ocarina of Time is like dunking your head into the primordial ooze of 3D gaming and seeing every single gameplay mechanic of the past 25 years fully formed and ready to go.

THE BEST ZELDA GAME OF ALL TIME

most overrated game of all time, i know it was good for its time but i never got why it was so praised, its fun enough i guess.

One of the most revolutionary games for a reason.

The time traveling feature isn't ever really used for anything creative outside of using Magic Beans and the Song of Storms segment. The story is really lackluster (why do no NPCs or anything in the game at all mention/talk about the Bottom of the Well/Shadow Temple dungeons?). Janky, awkward platforming in some dungeons, and, finally, the last boss is pretty much just a recycled random enemy from the second dungeon of the game, the Dodongos. Really?

I just don't get what makes this game special.

Just a really good adventure game, way ahead of it's time. Some of the solutions to puzzles were a little too strict, and of course it has some old game jank, but overall it was a great experience.

Grand and simple. Absolutely archetypal.

I've had three separate nightmares about the lock on feature

3D take on the classic Zelda formula and it's an excellent early transition. The graphics look old and the FPS is low, but you stop noticing it real soon because the game aged really well overall.

Everything there feels so distinct and on its place - every location is atmospheric and memorable, every NPC is cool and funny in a way and the soundtrack is genius - it sounds unique and burns into your memory, despite each song starts from the same 5 notes.

The gameplay doesn't offer any unique combat mechanics or spectacular puzzles, but everything is put together and balanced in a way that it's fun to play. The controls, unlike many other early 3D games, aren't clunky at all. You don't even need getting used to it, it just feels modern enough, except the fact that you don't have a second thumbstick to turn the camera.
All the dungeons are well designed, even the Water and the Spirit temples people keep complaining about. I guess their main problem were the boots you constantly had to change in the inventory to solve puzzles, but even that wasn't too annoying for me.

I wasn't there when Zelda OoT came out, but I see why everyone praised it so much back then. Today it isn't such a groundbreaking experience anymore, but still a very solid game to get into.

Obra prima, vulgo melhor jogo do nintendo 64

need to finish this game so bad it's unreal

It's good but overrated.
I used to absolutely hate this game but after finishing it in 2022 I have grown to like it quite a bit.
Major parts that suck are:
- The rooms that are literally just a background with a collision map.
- Kaepora Gaebora, I don't like him.
- Jank movement and collision, it's better in Majora's but 3D Zelda just has really really jank movement in this era.
- Inability to cancel like 90% of actions.
- The fact your controls are context-sensitive I just don't like this in almost any game.
Forest Temple is such a contender for the best Zelda dungeon ever.
