Cereza is adorable I love her so much omg

Focused on other games rn but its pretty good, has dmc kind of combat

''as long as there is music i'll keep on dancing''
slkkkkkkkkkkkkk que irado, incrivel, amei

I've got a fever, and the cure is more dead angels.

"'Let's rock, baby!' (Dante, Devil May Cry, 2001)" – Bayonetta (Bayonetta, 2009).

All of these people deserve every award.

A testament to how truly fantastic this game is, is that I'm playing it on the fucked up PS3 version, and it's still a god damn masterpiece.

When I first played this game when I was, like, ten, I wasn't really accustomed to hack-and-slash titles (the only one I'd ever really played was Dante's Inferno, and that game is cake), and the combat's advanced skin kind of put me off, but now I realize that it is so easy to pick up. It is genuinely terrifically made. The moves list can look scary at first glance, but once you've played for an hour or two, that thing is your dance partner and you're tearing up the floor.

The way Bayonetta moves during combat is absolutely flawlessly cool and smooth. Locking together a five-hit combo on a fool, without getting hit by some other enemy, and ending with a Wicked Weave that drains the final bit of their health as they dissolve will never not be satisfying.

The story is delightfully rich and engaging, and actually has twists and moments where I legitimately gasped, either in shock or pure awe of the insane direction behind this game. And beyond these cutscenes being some of my favorite cutscenes in a video game, all of the dialogue in this game is fantastic, and has such a tight, but rich, cast of characters speaking it. All of these characters leave an impression on you. Kind of like how I'd like to leave an impression in

I was unsure if I felt okay with maybe liking this a single bit more than Devil May Cry 3, and then they hit me with a 3-minute dance sequence, and yep.

In other words, Bayonetta (2009), I love you.

Tell me another game that rolls credits over the protagonist pole dancing. Exactly. Masterpiece.

Fuck you, Nintendo.

Bayonetta definitely deserves to be on the Mt Rushmore of hack and slash up there with the likes of DMC and Ninja Gaiden 💯

shit gameplay incredible story and cutscenes

Simply a splended game with excellent gameplay and art design. Some of the most fluid combat ive seen in a game but its non combat sections are sorely lacking and it doesnt bother to teach you a lot of mechanics. This game only clicked with me after I watched a youtube video on how its mechanics work

o vagabundo do Kamiya é um gênio mesmo

hot as fuck witch like how u really dont like this game LIKE SERIUSLY

Bayonetta was such a great game. I dont regret finishing this game at all. It has such likable characters. I also like the fighitng mechanics (even though I suck at these kind of games). Only problem is that the cameras tend to get werid at some angles in the middle of battles which kind of suck.

has so much swag but i wish i was more into it

This game is just incredible. The gameplay is amazing, much more dodge-focus than something like DMC, which makes the flow of combat feel very natural and you always need to be concentrated because enemy attacks can be really fast, needing you to have some very sharp reaction time (sometimes even too fast for my liking).
I think that what most stands out in this game, however, is it's personality. Bayonetta is just such an amazing character. It's usually kind of uncomfortable to me when characters in media are so sexualized, but here it just works. Bayonetta is a confident and powerful woman, and everything is so crazy and she is so powerful that the sexual parts just add to that "did that really just happen?" part. Like when the big bad guy throws a freaking satellite to you and you start playing satellite tennis with the boss. It is just a crazy experience that never fails to amaze and be charismatic.

Action game MASTERPIECE. A little frustrating here and there, but if you're willing to put in the effort and learn the game, it's a very satisfying experience.
Has some arcadey segments that overstay their welcome, but I forgive it for how great it is in other areas.

I feel like a f**king celebrity in this town!

Great start for a wonderful franchise, I wish that they did something different for the items. Like instead of punishing you for using items that are a programmed part of the game!? that instead they gave you a bonus for not using them.

quero voltar a jogar mas me da tontura 💔💔

Maria mãe de Deus so que pros gays.

MUITO BOMMMM, jogo absurdo de incrível, literalmente videogames

I kinda put off playing this game because 1. I had other games in my backlog and 2. I wasn't sure how much I would enjoy it, but after playing it, it looks like I didn't need to worry about that after all.

Yeah I really liked this game. I admittedly haven't played a whole lot of beat 'em up/hack and slash games outside of the night/Werehog stages in Sonic Unleashed (which honestly kinda gave me a bad first impression of the genre lol) and Hi-Fi Rush (which I really enjoyed) but I can certainly say that Bayonetta really kept me invested in the gameplay pretty much the whole time (aside for a couple sections which I'll get to). There's a lot of depth here with the different techniques and combos you can pull off, even just at the start with even more you can unlock as you progress plus different weapons you can unlock and choose from. The game does have a bit of that traditional 'Sega learning curve' and can be hard at some points, but I didn't really ever feel 'frustrated' with the game and when you do learn to pull off techniques and combos well, it becomes extremely satisfying in just how 'powerful' you feel. The enemies, bosses and stages are all generally well designed in challenging the player, timing your dodge moves for Dodge Offset and Witch Time, with a few puzzle elements here and there, and the ranking system also adds further replay value with everything else I just talked about.

That of course isn't to mention the story and characters which, well, I also really liked. There's a lot of worldbuilding and lore here that I liked, and I was genuinely interested in just seeing whatever happened as I played through the game and uncovering the backstory of the different characters. Bayonetta herself is just a complete girlboss which I can always appreciate and her interactions with the other characters (both the supporting cast and antagonists/enemies) did get some laughs out of me. I really gotta appreciate how the game couples the overall serious tone of the story with a lot of humor in how the characters interact leaving the game to be pretty damn quotable. (the "You're much too ugly to not put out of your misery" is such a good roast lmao).

The only real things I took issue with was the "Space Harrier" section in Chapter XIV (and to a lesser extent the motorcycle sections in a couple other chapters) which was a neat novelty at first in reference to Sega's past but did... kinda go on for too long and didn't really offer much in terms of depth. The rank system is also a bit harsh here which wasn't too much of an issue for me since at least in my first playthrough was just playing through the main game and story but admittedly it did feel somewhat defeating (for lack of a better word) when I kept getting Stone Enzo statues in every chapter except for the prologue. Yeah I know it's a skill issue on my part but I have heard that the game is pretty tight with it's requirements in general (from what I looked up supposedly deaths will automatically take away a single rank and there's also penalties for using items) so, word of advice to anyone playing the game for the first time, don't feel too defeated if you keep getting those stone enzo statues lol.

Overall though, yeah this is definitely a game worth playing and one I liked even more than I was expecting.

bayonetta and jeanne didn't kiss though so 0/10.
