4.5/5
Gameplay in L4D is fantastic, it takes a few rounds to learn all the Special Infected quirks, and the layout of the maps, but everything feels intuitive and natural. The only flaw I can truly find with the Gameplay is VS mode being kinda boring and an untapped gold mine of gameplay. I just feel like not enough was put into that side of things, and its disappointing that also didnt improve much in L4D2. Theres a variety of gamemodes provided to shake up the experience and keep everything fresh. You can easily loose 100-200 hours playing L4D over the years with friends for short bursts.

L4D never leaves the mind, always sits in the back of your brain as a unique and fun experience that you would not mind revisiting with a couple of friends. Every few years I revisit L4D and remind myself of the Magic of the time period it so lovingly encapsulates. In many ways, L4D will make you feel like a kid again when your playing with a group of 4, as you remind yourself of the friends you originally tackled the campaigns with.

For that alone, this game stands on a very special pedestal for me. One I know I can always revisit, and one I know I will always enjoy.

I love the Left 4 Dead games. This game is included in Left 4 Dead 2, so if you own it, you do not need to buy this one, except if you are an achievements hunter. I am only recommending this game because it is good, but it is really not worth it while already owning Left 4 Dead 2.

1 of the greatest szombie shooters evaaa

classic, glad i finally played all of it properly instead of messing with the maps with a million mods on. didnt expect the story to be so fucking sad lmao but kinda hard not to be with a zombie apocalypse. maps do sometimes feel same-y besides their big set pieces, of which they also tend to sort of repeat similar scenarios, but that's kind of just what the game is.

Fun but not quite as good as the second game

Its a good game but l4d2 just overrides it

Really good until you whip up the sequel and never go back

o multiplayer é lindo, e o jogo base envelheceu até que bem!

Good game, but 2nd chapter replaced that.

Left 4 Dead walked so Left 4 Dead 2 could run.

this is game 24/71 of my backlog.

i played this game exclusively in singleplayer, so that's what i'll be talking about, but i did try out multiplayer for a bit, and it just wasn't much fun because 1) teammates are very bad, 2) lag was unbearable.

This game is great! the campaigns themselves are not too much to write home about in terms of narrative, there IS lore but it's just kinda lame and not worth caring about, but level design it's a MASTERPIECE, everywhere you go feels like somewhere you wouldn't be able to go to in normal day-to-day life, and that you're perhaps going the wrong way, but somehow you just always get funneled right into the right path, and that isn't to say that the levels are all linear, more so that they somehow managed to make so that every unexplored path feels like the right path.

One weird thing i noticed is that there's just a lot of... empty room, no loot, no furniture, just empty, i'm not sure why or perhaps it's an rng thing but i saw a lot of those during my playthrough.

In regards to the weapons, the choices are a bit boring, i almost always went with the autoshotgun when i could, it just seems to do way more damage than anything else, and since it's a shotgun i don't have to care about spread fucking me over like the other weapons, but at the same time i wish i felt more of a reason to use the other ones.

This game is also very buggy, like zombies clipping through doors, or trying to scale up ceilings but getting offset weirdly and failing to, some things are just a bit clunky, but considering how ambitious the zombie AI (and their reactions to gunshots) i can let it slip, after all they made the very act of just shooting zombies very fun and weighty.

pretty good game, but with the sequel being a thing, i wonder if there's any point still playing this.

Challenging, but lots of fun with friends.

Como que conseguiram o direito de usar o chaves nesse jogo

An absolute classic of the horde shooter genre. Truly worth the amount of praise and reputation it's earned over the years. I've got so many fond memories of playing this game since it first released. From running through levels on expert with friends I've made over the years to playing around in versus mode or modded maps. I also miss being able to bash infinitely, even if it was an easy exploit, lol.

My enjoyment of playing games with friends slightly outweighs my dislike of zombies so I guess that's a win.

Very little reason to go back and play this. Considering all the maps were ported over to Left 4 Dead 2. I will say my fondest memories of this game was playing the demo over and over again. Finally saving up enough money to get the game only for the sequel to be announced kind of sucked. At least L4D 2improved on the game in every way possible.

one of my favourite games ever along with the second. The achievements are killing me though...
