What was at first possibly the worst game in the franchise, ended up becoming the ultimate kart racing experience for Mario fans.

Greatest redemption arc for a racing videogame.

Kinda basic for my own taste and I think that only using Seven's cast made Ys a disservice.

The only bad thing about this game is Phantom Raid not having Ouroboros' emblem breaking anymore.

Replayed it yesterday up until the 70 stars needed for the final boss fight.

This is still the best 3D Mario game.

That goddamn final boss gave me Twillight Princess flashbacks. 10/10.

Well, wave 2 came and certainly was better than the first one. Not only the tracks look closer to the ones of the base game but are also really fun to play. Here are my thoughts on them.

New York Minute: It has to be my favorite city course so far. The variations in the laps are better than those in the first wave.

Mario Circuit 3: Good to have it back. I would rather have the second one, but this is fine.

Kalimari Desert: The lap variation transformed one of the worst tracks of MK64 into one of the better ones.

Waluigi Pinball: Great as always.

Sydney Sprints: Long and fun. Great track and grat music.

Snow Land: Loved it. Even when I thought this would be my least favorite, it ended up being really fun to play.

Sky-High Sundae: Kind of a let down, but having the whole track as a no-rails antigravity one certainly helps in making it fun to play.

Overall an improvement over the first one and I can only hope to see the next waves become better and better over time.

Fun SF2 Ripoff where (almost) everyone's a shoto.

It's porn.

Overall a good experience. The artstyle difference its not that noticeable as some people argue and the tracks are some of the best starters.

I'll be updating this review and my own score for every wave released. As far as now, these are my opinions on the tracks:

Paris Promenade - Kinda basic and confusing at the start, but once you get the reel of it, it becomes one of the best.

Toad Circuit - Not bad at all. Graphycally speaking is not that ugly (thanks to the retexture). I guess this would be better if they used a different shade of green for the grass.

Choco Mountain - One of the best tracks: Looks great, plays great. The cave was a great addition to not making this track so monotonous.

Coconut Mall - Simply art, even with the downgrade.

Tokyo Blur - Doesn't have the right to be that good.

Shroom Ridge - Fun track. Graphically inconsistent (some parts of the track have textures, other don't). I'm still a sucker for the original version as a homage to SMB3, though.

Sky Garden - Short and Sweet. I wish it was 5 laps long.

Ninja Hideaway - Easily the best track so far. Great music, great layout.

Good enough combat and foraging system. Not my cup of tea, though.

Didn't play it but I saw Scott's video on it.

At first you'd think this game will be good with its (at first glance) solid combat mechanics and story, but after a while, you discover that it has a mediocre structure, the plot is dropped after the opening and the combat and music get repetitive soon.
