I bought this game as a joke thinking that it might have some novelty value the same way the anime did. I only managed to play approximately one hour and forty minutes of Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris. Which is because that's all the game actually allowed me to play. Before I explain what happened, I'll just give a brief summary of what my experience was. It was more or less a recap of the anime except it cut the beginning of the arc which is already a red flag. Combat was very slow, clunky and uneventful with a lot of parts of it straight up not working, like blocking and jump attacks, with the frame rate being absolutely horrendous. Presentation was poor as well. Poorly localised with words spelt completely differently within the same lines and the graphics looking overly touched up to cover the fact that it was quite low fidelity which made itself apparent when basically anything moved.
Then, the game proceeded to softlock itself because a main story objective would not spawn. I attempted to close, reopen it then reload my save in an attempt to fix it and the game had broken my save file. This game is so hilariously bad and broken that it can't even function on basic levels like allowing you to progress in the story, on the latest update might I add, or keep your save files safe. I suppose this would be the true SAO experience.
