Played this every day for over a year. I haven't picked it up in 6 months. I suppose most people can relate to this.

Shadow of the Colossus is justifiably praised for its atmosphere and art, but I really struggled to finish it. So much of the game is tedious and frankly, boring at times. When I finally got to a Colossus, I got a rush of excitement, clinging on while a Colossus shook you was pretty fun at first, but it's certainly not enough to entertain me 16 times in a row. But what really bothered me the most were the utterly atrocious controls. The horse was just a pain to ride.

I can appreciate the spectacle. It's beautiful, ambient and sadly a chore to play.

Absolutely nails the foundation and then spends most of its runtime proving why we usually build upon foundations.

The general aesthetic and character design is super cute, but I didn’t enjoy much else. The platforming felt stiff, the character writing felt kind of samey, and there were so many glitches I lost count. I can see the love put into this game, but I don’t think it stuck the landing.

The real final boss is the connection.

Really fun game that I'm looking forward to expanding in the future. Could really use more monsters, items, and some QOL features to make it better but as it is now it's very very solid.

Movement and platforming so delicious that it could turn anyone into a furry.

More action oriented than Battle for Bikini Bottom but less overall exploration. Just depends on which one is your cup of tea.

I had the pleasure of playing this on an actual PS2 for the first time and I loved it. The Silent Hill trilogy is easily a masterpiece from start to finish. My personal ranking would be Silent Hill 2, 1, then 3.

I think my favorite part about this game is the monster designs, which were easily some of the creepiest in the entire franchise. I think SH2 had a better atmosphere, but this game had some really great locations such as my personal favorite the Borley Haunted Mansion. The Chapel was by far my least favorite location and I did not enjoy that section of the game.

The boss fights were ok, I didn't really think they were anything special. The puzzles weren't really too hard either but I played on normal so maybe that's why.

One cool thing I noticed is that I used guns here more than I did in SH2.

A remarkable 2D platformer with 2.5D aesthetics from the 32bit era made that in its 4 levels does so much for being free to play. It includes a variety of weapons, challenging bosses, colorful scenarios with a variety of enemies and a pleasing retro style soundtrack. It even has cosmetics (free of course), witty lines, stickers to collect and an ending.

It would be a very easy recommendation... if it weren't for the fact that it doesn't have controller support and the button mapping is a bit awkward if you're not accustomed to playing with a WASD layout in these kinds of games. I've died many times due to mismatching buttons but thankfully the checkpoint system is quite forgiving.

Oh, it was also made with the Godot engine. Nice.
