Undeniably good first entry of a legendary franchise. The main problem is the promise of being able to go so fast that when it's a slower paced level it feels boring. It has good variety of zones for sure, but most of the time the game doesn't feel prepared to run as much as you want to.

Definitely an improvement from the last one. Aside of the more detailed scenarios and new weapons, Ryu has a much better control (like FINALLY being able to attack when hanging from a wall). The story is slightly worse for me, but it has also a more fair difficulty I'd say. I'd say it's more fun than its predecessor.

I heard as much bad stuff about this game as Castlevania II, but I disagree in a lot of stuff with this one. It's not as cryptic as the first one, the fighting system is much better, the leveling up system is decent and I find the dungeons more fun, even tho all of them are basically a monster corridor (which makes the game also pretty damn hard). Also, always starting from the same point when you die is bullshit.
