i’m always just dazzled by dark souls 3. it’s very nearly a perfect game, this is where i think fromsoft really like “got it”. brought in everything that worked in previous games to create a vision of the end of the world that is fast and tremendous and terrifying and a complete thrill to experience despite pissing me off big in some parts

i just loved the way they visualized a world literally collapsing into itself. dreg heap. goddamn.
some of the areas are insanely hard!! 3 ring knights and a big magic dude? dragonslayer armor’s back? fuckin laser angels? yeesh
luckily it’s a fun enough challenge and so so so pretty that i only cried once.

the sister friede + dad fight does most of the work here, though i did like to see a few more additions to miyazaki’s collection of fucked up birds
it’s still a good spunch game. the novelty of “wow i’m playing as spongebob and friends” really carries a lot of weight when ur twelve.

jampacks some of the tightest level and boss design in a fromsoft game into about 5 or 6 hours of gameplay. vaati baby i’m gonna need ur help pickin it apart though
this took me forever to get around to actually playing because maybe 4 or 5 times i beat the game and forgot that they just whisk you away into NG+ as soon as u beat the moon presence and i was NOT about to make that my first old hunters experience nuh uh fuck that

i like DS2 a lot but unfortunately all it will ever be is a speed bump on the way to playing other, better, fromsoftware games.
boss design is a delight here though. always a pleasure to see the covetous demon.

no new insights on what is likely my tenth or so dark souls run. i’ll love this game forever but the series still had a lot to figure out.
i think i can sorta parry some bosses and enemies now (took me long enough). i’ll never get that platinum. i still hate the bed of chaos, new hatred earned for ceaseless discharge haha and izalith gets even worse. if you can’t solo ornstein & smough at this point i don’t know what to tell you.

this is the game i think doom eternal is
VERY happy and surprised this game was able to pull serj and randy blythe. not that the rest of the soundtrack wasn’t balls out insanity, i just happen to be lifelong fans of these dudes and their bands.
