I enjoyed my time in the world of this moon diner, with its unique artstyle/color palate that fits the mood and atmosphere of its world perfectly with its yellow and blue shades portraying nighttime/the moon perfectly. The story of this Visual Novel/Adventure game was pretty engrossing and drew me in pretty quickly with decently written characters and a unique premise. That being said it does stray a bit absurdist and got closer to loosing me a few times, but I got over those moments quickly and was able to accept this game for what it is. A quite relaxing Visual Novel where you talk to other members of your situation and try to get yourself out of the Diner you are stuck in for what seems like all eternity.
Ys Origin, a fun romp up a tower with a story that doesn't overstay its welcome, and fast paced action that is fair and fun. Just make sure your properly leveled for each boss encounter, because being underleveled is a pain and a half. Thankfully leveling up is a quite quick and painless endeavor if needed. The music is also fantastic and fits right in with the rest of falcoms fantastic soundtracks. Of note its surprising how much this feels like a falcom game in its writing, style etc. having only played more of its recent titles eg. Ys 8,9. and some Trails games.
Mr. Coo is a enjoyable interactive animation in the style of a point and click game. reminiscent of old cartoons or comix, the animation is beautifully fluid and inventive, putting a smile on my face for most of the runtime and getting a few chuckles out of me as well. The point and click part of the game is good overall, but still suffers from moon logic like most of the genre does. The game is also has a few bugs which detract from the experience overall but are not overbearing to the point of ruining the fun.
