Ok so this game was pleasantly decent then it has no business being. Don't assume that it's secretly a horror game with a cutesy art style like I did, it only gets kinda food ""body horror" by the end but it's honestly not too bad. It's not a hard game remotely, you play it the same way you play Pokemon snap but with other characters to interact and befriend throughout the story by completing their collecting quests, and for muppet people they are oddly interesting guys. Also all the little bug critters are so adorable, if they didn't mutate me I would eat them up. (ɔ◔‿◔)ɔ ♥

I didn't give it three stars for being bad, far from it, I enjoyed the combat alot and controlling how you brainwashed and sacrifice the cultists was entertaining, the issue is that it's really short and once you upgrade everything and make a perfect self sustaining cult, there's not much to do afterwards aside from killing more enemies and the bosses. Gameplay is fun but not too addictive either, music still bops though. Also having the final boss be marriable is adorable, wished you could do that for the other bosses tho.

Normally I wouldn't be the type of gamer to even touch this game giving how wordery it seems to an outsider. But I gave it a chance anyway and was rewarded for my efforts with amazing writing to a compelling story, gorgeous art, decent voice acting, and atmospheric music. Disco Elysium is something the medium of gaming needed to have for a very long while.

Also if I were a dude, Kim Kitsuragi would be my husband.

FYI Some bad industry politics is going on with the devs and their publisher that has come to light that sucks. Like the company fired the devs and writers for refusing to force this game into becoming a sequel churning franchise and if you respect artist's visions you probably shouldn't support anything else ZA/UM makes from this point.
