This game gameplay wise is much better than doom 2016, more dynamic arenas and metroid prime style platforming breaks do a lot to help mitigate the repetive nature of 2016, the game largely kinda gets hurt by the honestly terrible story which feels like it was written by the kinda guy who tries to make jokes in the comments section in doom 2016 music uploads on youtube.

(Mostly) Great new enemies and the Super Shotgun add a lot to this game but also this game loses some of it's level design quality by having the difficulty and quality jump all over the place.

1993

Somehow this old ass DOS game remains just as fun to play today as it did in 1993, a genuine gaming legend for a good reason.

2016

This game opens fantastically but then the sheer repeteiveness of it starts to leave the quality waning over time.

Decent opening for the series that establishes a lot of base things for later but doesn't set the world on fire story wise, the gameplay foundation is also fun with nice weapons but levels that often feel like they drag on too long.

The best story of the original Halo trilogy by far, but the level design kinda falls apart in the last third of the game sadly

out of the original halo trilogy this has the best gameplay in both campaign and multiplayer.

the budget was increased a lot in this game and the game shifts its focus to the story here. Each night is a minigame, and most of them are fine except for night 4 which sucks in every way

by far the scariest game in the series, but also one of the most pointless feeling

Finally the series gives you a reason to actually monitor the cameras and the game regains some of the original atmosphere while having more interesting gameplay.

the atmosphere is less well crafted than the first game and you have very little breathing room due to the sheer number of animatronics attacking you so the game is even more about quickly peeking at things in the same pattern while making sure you don't die

incredibly well done atmosphere and cool robots do a lot to mask the fact that this is a game where the gameplay is looking left to right then quickly peeking at a monitor repeatedly until the game ends.

Absolutely the best anime style fighting game ever made and is very unlikely to ever be topped, also has the best fighting game character ever made Faust.

Super fun spirtual successor to DKC, learnt a lot of lessons from the first yooka game and came out with a really fun game that adds some big new twists while still keeping it like DKC

if Hugo was high tier I'd give this a perfect score
