I cant believe it, A Game inspired by Getting over it that is actually well made, challenging in a fun way, and requires real skill and practice to beat rather than mastering an incredibly broken and unpredictable physics system? actually so awesome

dont get me wrong, i like bennet foddy's work, but whenever youre playing getting over it, it feels like youre fighting the games controls rather than just controlling your cauldron dude, but this game makes you feel so much more in control and this improves every aspect of it

this game is just as punishing as getting over it, and you will likely rage and die inside, but instead of it feeling unfair cause the broken physics messed you up like in getting over it, every failure feels like YOUR failure, not the game's failure, if you fall, that was your fault, and since it was your fault, it makes you want to overcome your failure, get better, get over the hurdles

basically this game masters challenge and reward in a genre of rage game like this, i fully think this game is much better than getting over it so give it a try if you enjoyed that

brilliant idea done brilliantly, the one arm gimmick and all mouse control is unique, interesting and works well, and even ignoring the most unique part of this game its still a expertly crafted survival horror game, exploration is executed well, fun and tense at points and the gunplay with the manual reloading makes works really well in making this game immersive, the only problem i have with this game is the times i had where the gunplay turned from fun and interesting to annoying and janky, the mouse control is well done but not perfect and sometimes while shooting (especially while shooting an enemy close to me) the hand would move in weird ways that i didnt want it to which led to some frustrating deaths, that isnt exactly common though and you can work around so its not a major issue

While the graphics, artistry and atmosphere is all on point and great, this game feels like it focused so much on all those things that it forgot to be an actually fun game, either that or it felt like it needed to pad out its run time for some reason

i say that because 90% of this game is just tedious puzzles that feel like busy work, and just parts that feel pointlessly redundant for the sake of wasting the players time, i honestly dont understand how this game was critically acclaimmed when it launched, do game critics just look at a pretty artsy game and think they have to immediatly throw a 10 at it without thinking about if it was an enjoyable or thought provoking experience? i wanna like this game and at times i do but that felt like 1/4 of my playthrough, very dissapointing

a super cool, fun, and charming vr game that has a unique idea behind it, full of puzzles and gameplay that require some inception level stuff, i thought the whole art style and story was really cute and the gameplay was really varied while still staying coherent with its central idea, the only caveat is that its pretty short, i bet it in a little under 90 minutes, but honestly i dont think thats much of a problem since the game didnt overstay its welcome, made me enjoy every second of that play time and left me satisfied by the end, overall i definetly recommend you play this if youre into experimental vr games

i feel bad for giving this a pretty negative review because in reality, i have fun with dicey dungeons, but i feel like this game is just not made for me, basically buyer beware, DO NOT GET THIS GAME IF YOU HATE RNG, because even though its fun, its colorful, its charming, it is totally luck based and you can get absolutely fucked over sometimes from no fault of your own, because of this a playtrough can either be super fun or the most frustrating thing ever, and for me that dynamic just does not result in fun for me, its made me way too angry and frustrated from no fault of my own for me to wanna keep going, so yeah if you dont mind luck in your games and enjoy roguelikes then dicey dungeons might be a good game for you, but if you despise rng, stay away from this game

also additional note, WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND THOUGHT LOUDBIRD WAS A GOOD ENEMY DESIGN? SERIOUSLY IT ACTUALLY BAFFLES ME HOW SOMEONE COULD MAKE AN ENEMY SO PERFECTLY BROKEN FOR A GAME LIKE THIS, FUCK WHOEVER DESIGNED THAT GUY.

im kinda saddened to say that this game really dissapointed me, and not exactly because it was a bad game, honestly its a good game! the underwater atmosphere is great, i loved exploring and looking at the scenery, the controls are alright, the swimming works altough the grabbing is a bit inprecise at times, there were points where i missed where i wanted to grab or i kept pressing the grip button and it wouldnt grab which was frustrating, something else i didnt like were the cutscenes, theyre fine but theyre all in 3rd person, as in you look at your character from an outsider perspective not their pov, i dont understand why they didnt make them first person cause these 3rd person ones kinda broke the immersion and they dont show anything really worthy of being in 3rd person

but those are not the worst things and not exactly why i give this game a negative review, the reason is that its way too short, i had no idea this game was gonna be less than an hour when i played it and when the credits rolled all i could think was "wait thats it?", right when it ended the game was getting good and i was getting excited for what the rest of the game had to offer and then it just suddenly stopped, now that i look at it after finishing it the game does not offer enough, the idea of the game is great but they barely do anything interesting with it, you just swim trough not that exciting places and solve basic puzzles, they couldve put you into super cool looking underwater areas with interesting sea life, or old dark sunken ships full of skeletons of the old crew, but instead the game decided to end before they did anything cool with it, which is why im so dissapointed with it

this has become my favorite parappa game by far, it still suffers from some infamous issues the first game had, like button timing being too precise or offbeat but its definetly WAAAY better than parappa 1, and also the game can get insanely hard at some points but for me honestly thats a plus

despite everything ive said tho this game 10000% makes up for all that, the story and characters are weird, cute, funny and brimming with charm, the soundtrack absolutely slaps, there is not a single bad or forgettable song here (unless you dont like rock or metal ig lol), and the song charting is super fun and, while theyre still hard, its not in an unfair way per-se, the game demands alot from you but finally beating a song youve trained dozens of times feels amazing and super satisfying, also in the perspective of this being a "sequel" to parappa 1, it has so many more great features like replays, multiplayer, a whole bonus story with parappa and much more that makes this brim with replayability, in conclusion this has become my favorite game of the parappa series and i think it is seriously underrated and overshadowed by the loveable rapping dog, give this a try and you wont regret it.

i dont know exactly what to blame for the experience i had, whether it was a fault of the developers, the technology just not being there yet or maybe even my fault, but whatever it is, this is just such a huge dissapointment for me

this game seemed like a fun way to experiment with hand tracking, but it just does not work, i mean yeah sometimes it works like with just looking at your hands and moving individual fingers, or doing very simple gestures, but when it comes to doing actual actions like grabbing, pushing or whatever it immediatly falls apart, the tracking just absolutely blows and it makes completing the simple puzzles so frustrating, and speaking of puzzles those are also just not fun, all the ones i played were just baby level activities that were made infuriating because of the poor tracking, everything i just said culminated into a terrible experience that is not worth buying at all

this is a pretty good puzzle game with i think an interisting presentation in the form of a fake os, and some really clever and fun puzzles, altough the main issue is thats not always the case, the puzzles can vary alot in quality, some puzzles are genuinely super clever and fun, others are kind of way too easy, and some are just annoying or super cryptic to complete, the game does have a hint system but there was one puzzle that i got stuck on and even when i got all the hints for it i still didnt know what to do because the hint literally didnt make sense (i think it was poorly translated), this was a majorly annoying part in my playthrough, but still ignoring the bad puzzles you will get a fun and quite unique puzzle game here

i remember people talking about gone home back when it was released, it basically birthed what we now know as the walking simulator genre, but i never knew anything about it until now and man... this is another game added to the list of ones that made me cry, its no wonder the walking sim genre stuck because its such an interesting and brilliant way to convey a story when done right, walking around someones house, slowly piecing togheter various stories just by reading documents and using context alone is such an amazing way of conveying said stories, its something that could only be achieved trough the medium of video games and its beautiful

not to mention such an endearing and emotional story told in this game, i wont spoil any of it but the max ill say is it really pulls at the hear strings and is brilliantly emotional, especially being lgbt myself and the story having alot of lgbt themes made it really connect personally with me

this game may be almost 10 years old but its 100% timeless and having finished it should never die.

2013

Not alot of games have made me so close to crying quite like this one, such a beautiful and gorgeous way to humanize all the victims of disasters all over the globe, im so glad i played this and i urge everyone to as well

honestly i dont wanna seem harsh on this game, but i wasnt really amazed by it, its incredibly short and makes a cute connection between 2020 and pacman, a pretty clever one but still i would just call it that, clever and cute, it doesnt really do anything else and honestly the game felt a bit incomplete and didnt have a good conclusion, i didnt hate the game no way but i just thought after completing it "wait that was it? well that was... fine"

this might be my favorite vr game of all time, just everything that the artists in this gallery accomplished is so stunning and cool, this game is just chock full of interesting concepts, beautiful visuals, places to explore etc, so worth it, especially for a free vr game.

this game was honestly very underwhelming, the first game to have vr hand tracking technology could be cool but firstly its super short, this game feels more like a tech demo than anything, and i dont feel the hand tracking was used well or done well, you cant do alot interesting in this game and there were at times where using my hands was pretty finicky, overall pretty dissapointed cause this game sounded pretty cool

not much i can say without spoiling the experience other than this is a really fun and creative experience, amazing job on this dev, ive never seen anything like it truly! youll understand why im being so sweet once you play the game, i recommend totally blind btw
