I’m in love with the Remedy sensibilities and the inspirations that their games wear on their sleeves. Having played Alan Wake just before Control, the shared universe and growth of the gameplay and story complexity brought a smile to my dumb face. Of course the world Remedy is playing in won’t be for everyone, but it definitely hits hard with me. Excellent game, can’t wait to see what Remedy brings in the future.

Wow. I absolutely loved the narrative and the format in which it was told. The episodic structure made me want to discuss and theorize what was happening and what would happen in next week’s episode. Much like obsessing over the latest HBO Original Series. (Unfortunately none of my friends are playing this game so I theorized with myself) However, this remaster is far from perfect, especially in the gameplay. The combat here succeeded in creating tension and suspense, but ultimately felt shallow as the game went on. Puzzle solving to navigate the environment was very enjoyable and could’ve been utilized more in place of an excessive amount of villainous waves lacking variety. Overall a very enjoyable experience that has me very excited for Control and Alan Wake 2. Definitely recommend and it may even warrant a second play through for me on Nightmare difficulty to snag those extra manuscript pages.

One of my favorite Zelda titles made even better by the HD Remaster. Excellent story and the combat feels perfect. Looks as stunning as ever, and playing with the gamepad was a delight.
