A brilliant starting point for many newcomers to the series, me included. This game severely lacks the silly and goofy aesthetic and presentation of the older games, but I do like the focus on ecology. Monster variety sucked at first but iceborne made it way better. I love the weapon changes made in this game, brilliant. It gives weapons some fast and flash moves but never takes it overboard, aside from longsword lol. I love the new monsters introduced and this game is still somewhat nostalgic for me.
