I'm not a fan of some of the level design choices in World 7 and 8; 8 in particular is side scroller hell. The rest of the game is pretty solid though.

It's a solid boss fight, not the best Bowser boss fight I've ever had but it's certainly better than everything else I had to face in World 8. Not sure if I would say it would "pay off" for the rest of World 8 but the final castle definitely made the last few hours a little less sour.
