An atmospheric and intense indie tactics RPG that seems to be inspired primarily by Final Fantasy Tactics, but with a streamlined, deterministic combat system where the elements have sweeping effects on the battlefield. The main questline is short, with several optional battles scattered throughout the barren world. The game has some light tutorial information, but it mostly drops you into its mysterious archipelago with little explanation (and no compass, to the dismay of many impatient players). There's something satisfying about exploring the game's lands and lore for yourself, and of course, winning the trickier battles. The art style is a breath of fresh air for the genre, strongly departed from that very concrete, cutesy, pseudo-medieval, portraiture-heavy anime style that would be expected of a fantasy TRPG. I'll take a ragtag band of woodland goblins instead, thanks very much.
