Amazing game.

At first I didn't care for the setting or why I had to go to the different areas, but I got over this about halfway through.

The gameplay is the amazing stuff you would expect from a DQ Monsters game. Breeding, grinding, scouting is as amazing as always here, and had me playing way later than I usually do.

The environments were amazing, really pushing what a DS could do. The addition of big monsters, both on field and in battle, changed it up in a nice way. Now some monsters take up more than 1 slot on your party, which usually means they're stronger, larger, and might even hit twice a turn.

Story was the only eh part, felt like they tried something new with the island you're on but it fell flat for me near the end. Rescuing the people at each area was fine, as well as the scout challenge arena.

Only wish the game was longer. It's not exactly short but I felt like the game wanted me to make A rank monsters earlier than I wanted, around 10 hours into the game.

Still had an absolute blast with this game.
