I'm conflicted on this game, I think theres a lot of good here, the mild rogue-like hunting game combined with the restaurant management sim is great, but the games feels a need to pull you away from those really solid core systems for the sake of unecessary variety.

The boss battles are cook and grand in scale but underwater combat doesn't always feel good.

While I've seen a lot of compliments to this ganes bombastic cutscenes but for my taste I often found them over-the-top and annoying but thats 100% subjective

Idk I like Dave the Diver but theres plenty of mixed feelings

Oh and as a trophy hunter... fuck GYAO

Whether or not I played this game when I did came down to a coinflip, I got heads and played Edith Finch

2 hours later I was crying on my couch, what a gut-punch of a game

I love Dicey Dungeons, absolutely one of my favorite roguelikes, and while it may not be as long or in-depth or difficult as some of it's contemporaries I don't think that matters. It's relative simplicity and wonderful character design create an incredibly engaging game and maybe this is a hot take but I like having a roguelike with a climatic final boss that is present throughout the story!

Love Dicey so much and I'm glad to say I've finally finished it
