Between the hour long tutorial with constant info dumping mechanics, a mess of visual components making seeing the tracks difficult, and the mechanics of racing itself being overly complex with both a ring currency system for spending to keep your top speed up...

This game's a complete mess. I really enjoyed Sonic Robo blast 2 Kart for the fact it was heavily skill based but still goofy enough that it was in line with how Mario Kart plays. This is just overkill in the audio/visual department without much of a second thought given to the actual core gameplay of the game. So much focus went into shoving so many mechanics like fast drops, ring spending, tricks off springs, etc. that it feels less like I'm racing and praying to god I do finger gymnastics to even stay on the road.

I hope they strip back some of this game or better balance it because in its current state, it's a frustrating mess that isn't very fun to play and its tutorial is a FUCKING HOUR LONG that I spent that I genuinely didn't enjoy.

Gonna preface this by saying that I quite like Klonoa 1 a good bit after playing a demo endlessly as a kid and ADORING the Wii remake some years later. Klonoa 2 is probably one of the greatest 2D platformers made, in my opinion, offering a touching story, gorgeous level design, and some of the best music I've heard in a game.

This HD remaster might be one of the most disappointing things I've played but in a way of seeing how many details were removed from Klonoa 2 and how...off things feel in Klonoa 1. It's very frustrating being super detail oriented! So many missing animations, lighting effects, visual touches, and lacking cel-shading really don't do it many favors.

That said, if you wanna play Klonoa and are pretty averse to other methods of playing the games, this isn't a bad collection by any means, but for $30 for a couple cult classics which lack some details that the originals really shine with...It's a bit of a hard sell.

A charming, simple, and chaotic shmup where you play as a cute little dragon! The scoring system is ludicrous with how easy it is to cheese, 1-ups are plentiful, and there';s so much going on at once that its easy to lose track of where you are VS enemy fire.

However, this game's soundtrack absolutely whips and gets carried with immense charm. Also its short and easy to do a single credit clear! Very nice!

A solid port of Puyo Puyo with caveats of having load times between stages due to loading Cd audio for the newly voiced in-between cutscenes. There's also a slight sound delay when clearing out puyo and it's not as smooth feeling as the arcade original. All that said, its still a very charming game and at its core, its still puyo!

Probably one of the best movement systems in 3D space I've played with in recent years with a lot of animation and care put into the character you play. As far as Metroidvania style games though, I feel its a mixed bag given a lot of lacking direction and basically giving the player free roam to figure everything out on their own. It's not my particular cup of tea as far as design goes, but the areas all connect and there's a surprising amount of scale to each area you visit.

Also they could've totally axe the combat altogether and I think you'd have a far more interesting time. Even with some of the nuances of being able to kick your sword in mid-air and some fun dodge maneuvering, it just doesn't have the impact or complexity to carry itself at large.

I feel like this needs a bit more impact/variety to its combat, given you only have a slim set of attacks and a lot of the time you don't even have to engage. I also think it needs a trim in the size of its areas as a lot of the time its a lot of vacant space that doesn't do much to really help the player, even if there are neat little trinkets laying about.

Didn't get to far into this, but it's very much like most of the 2 Player Arcade Riichi Mahjong variants I've seen like Suchie-Pai, Super Real Mahjong, and so on. Really the unique character art is what drew me in, and the fact all the currency is carrots is a very cute touch. There's a bunch of cheat skills you can buy and the game itself doesn't seem outlandishly unfair. Not much else to really say about it other than its cute, functional, and there's surprisingly a lot of dialogue and point and click elements I didn't really expect. Very neat!

I wish I never learned that the Beach Boys had a career during the 90s and that this was part of said career.

Break legs 8 ways till sunday.

While it controls a little clunky and strange, this game's atmosphere is really something. Very unsettling in a weird way and it's got some great visual design for a Simple Series title.

Still the epitome of graffiti culture in video game form.

Got stuck on the copy-protection screen and it told me to come back when it stopped raining.

Thanks Jack Nicklaus.

While I like the shot mechanics being similar to the T&E SOFT golf games with the circular shot power/accuracy, the game itself leaves a lot to be desired. The character models are cute but lack really any personality and the courses themselves are very boring and plain in terms of terrain variety.

The biggest offender this game has is its also just painfully slow, often taking a full couple minutes before it rolls back to your turn watching the CPUs play their shots. With no fast forward function, it gets grating.

One of the more average entries tot he Ridge Racer series, playing more like the PSP counterparts. Overall it looks and plays fine, tracks aren't much to write home about and the soundtrack/presentation I would put firmly in the "it's exactly what you'd expect from a 360/PS3 era game."

An okay Zelda-like with some real unique gimmicks with the partners you collect over the course of the game. Held back mostly by bland dungeon design and a sloppy localization/translation that mares a lot of the story (granted, many of the story beats tend to get dropped very quickly).

That said, it's beatable in an afternoon, has wonderful music, and makes for a fun time as a one-and-done.

If you're playing solo, it's good as Mickey and fantastic as Donald. Each has their own route with a bunch of tweaks and areas the other can't get to.

Now if you play this co-op? Legit might be one of the best 2 player games on the console. Working together and trying not to fall through pits and coordinate mechanics is so damn fun.

Also this game is a visual/audio treat, huge recommend.
