Hi-Fi Rush was surprisingly good. I've never played a rhythm game before but I enjoyed it a lot. The visual style and sense of humor helps it stand out for me. The way the game almost seamless shifts between ingame cutscenes and 2D cutscenes is impressive. I like the cuts we get from gameplay to 2D stills seamlessly for impact almost like how 2D animations sometimes hover over certain frames for impact.

The game knows when to be funny and when to just stop and let the gameplay take over. The characters are fun and goofy without being annoying. The story itself isn't anything really special but the characters made it entertaining.

The music goes unimaginably hard. The original tracks are all good and it has an interesting selection of licensed music that manage to fit the scenes where they play very well. It is fitting that the first and last boss fight themes are Nine Inch Nail songs.

My one complaint would be the last fight which somehow fails at two aspects of the gameplay that the game had done so well until that point. The last fight is a mess in terms of visual clarity and audio clarity which is horrible for a rhythm action game. At some point I left that fight to the gods and got through by being lucky. No amount of timing was helping me there. Its a shame because that fight had a lot of potential.

if Baldur's Gate 3 didn't come out in the same year, this would def have been my GOTY for 2023.

Neat gameplay mechanic of rhythm based everything, fun characters, good OST. Haven't finished it yet tho but plan to

This game is kinda rubbish. It feels like someone trying to recall Final Fantasy VII while drunk, and also while never having played Final Fantasy VII.

That said it's a triumph of maximalist late 90s/early 00s style. It's basically the last great psx game, and it's not even on the psx. It's as if someone had made a game out of the tribal-tattoo-design gba, but with more FMV.

Also, the combat is less bad than people say. Like it's STILL fairly bad, but I've played worse.

I hit things with a guitar really well.

I HAVE TO COMMIT VANDALISM NOW !!!

It's easily one of the slickest games made! Love how they blend FPS with a platforming and puzzle solving! It's safe to say that the gameplay keeps you coming back for more and is easily the biggest highlight of the game. On top of that, the soundtrack just absolutely slaps! The story...exists but it's still fun regardless. I'd say it's a must buy!

Simply put, the game's good. It's got issues like I feel Kung Lao's written to be a bit too much of a dick at times and the conflict between him and Liu Kang could've been better paced but otherwise I'd say it's a solid enough story for a fanservice-y spin-off game.

Gameplay wise it's honestly really fun and has a bit more to it than I was expecting, platforming is a little awkward at points but it's fine overall too.

As someone who was introduced to this series through the reboot trilogy, I'm surprised by how much I enjoyed this. It's gotta be the game-iest video game I've played in a long time. You've got acrobatic platforming, third person shooting, and puzzle solving interspersed with the occasional vehicle section, boss fight, and a handful of quick time events. It's such a product of its time but there's a lot of charm in that; it's been a while since I've played something unfamiliar to me from this era.

One of my biggest gripes with the reboot trilogy is that they're all very same-y, and feel like half of all AAA action games released in the past 15 years. They're solid games but fairly generic and feature largely unengaging plots. Tomb Raider: Legend isn't very unique in and of itself, but I was still sucked in for the brief six-hour campaign. It doesn't overstay its welcome and it's goofy and over-the-top in all the right ways. There's even a free-roam mode where you can explore Croft Manor and a plethora of unlockables, including several alternate outfits. Lara herself is confident, cold, brutal, witty and sexy. And my dumb caveman brain definitely enjoyed my time spent with her.

I played the 360 version on my Series X and while the game runs just fine, it unfortunately doesn't feature any enhancements like a nice FPS boost. It can look kinda blurry at times and was clearly designed with 6th gen hardware in mind, but my eyes grew accustomed to it. Looking forward to trying out Anniversary and Underworld as well, because this was like the best $4 I ever spent.

please add a mode where hank is oiled up and twerking ty xoxoxo

Under the shitpost exterior, Slayers X is genuinely one of the most soulful throwback shooters I’ve played in a long time. With it’s fun gameplay loop, actually really good level design, and it’s attitude of just wanting to have a good time and make you laugh; it’s so easy to recommend.

A genuine classic and I will not hear otherwise.

ReMind fixed all my issues with KH3 and gave us that good old KH secret boss that hints at the series' direction.
