Duvet is a short exploration game that won first place on the Magical Girl Game Jam #2 and which deals with heavy themes regarding the value and nature of human beings. It took me about 1 to 2 hours to experience the full game, and it will vary for everyone depending on puzzle-solving skills as the game challenges you quite a bit with some of them in a very creative fashion.

The visuals are a great tribute to the PSX era and the soundtrack never feels out of place, together they bring about a great atmosphere that suits the overall tone of the game.

It has it's drawbacks too, although these takes I feel are somewhat more on the personal note side. Controls can feel a bit slow and clunky at times but for such a short experience I didn't mind it much. I was also frustrated with some of the puzzles but I attribute that to my own lack of patience with them.

The story surrounding the game's setting unfolds as progress is made without giving away too much detail and the player (at least I was) is encouraged to come up with their own interpretation of the events that lead to the ending.

All in all I enjoyed Duvet quite a bit, I think it's a solid albeit brief project that wasn't afraid to dive into darker narratives from those often associated with cute magical protagonists in today's videogame industry.
