Progressing through Link's Awakening sometimes requires you to do things that are so obtuse and obscure that it makes Dark Souls side quests seems relatively straightforward in comparison, to the point that I have no idea how anyone could beat this game without consulting your guide other than literally scouring every inch of it every time they get stuck until they find the path forward.
And yet, I had a great time playing it! The art and music are stellar, the basic mechanics and progression are as satisfying as most Zelda games I've played and the offbeat dreamlike vibes of the story and setting are excellent.
Great little game, suggested to anyone, just look up a guide whenever you get really stuck.

Fantastic gameplay and a really fun contained open world to play around in. The storytelling was an improvement over the previous few entries in the series, but overall the campaign kind of felt like the first half of a Halo story. I guess this is what happens when games become live service platforms.
Super fun but a little disappointing.

I have several complaints about this game, I feel like it sticks to its formula almost too much and could have done with some modernisation in some areas. That said, overall it's a really fantastic experience with awesome exploration and design, some incredible bossfights (next to some less fun bullshit ones) and a truly addicting constant sense of progression that makes it hard to put down. Game of the year?
A part from the excessive re-use of old areas I absolutely loved this game. The story is basically a prequel/origin story to the whole Zelda timeline and gameplay wise I really enjoyed the more linear structure of the areas, it's like you're constantly in a dungeon solving puzzles and finding shortcuts.
