This was a fine addition to the EA Starwars titles. There were plenty of goof and gaffs to be had, some touching story beats and intense lightsaber battles.

For me, the game was the most engaging during the more free-form platforming segments. I would have enjoyed a more challenging aproach to using the force powers in long free-running segments that put reflexes and fast-thinking to the test.

The different stances were enjoyable to switch out, and they kept the combat from getting too stale. In addition, the perks system added a bit of complexity to builds, but I found myself picking up way more cosmetic items than usable abilities. I will say the sheer number of collectibles in this installment was overwhelming. I felt much less incentivised to hunt them all down than in the last game.

Performance issues abound on the PS5 version, and the screen tearing and stuttering were distracting until I got used to it (not a phrase you want to say about a AAA title).

In summary, when the game was good it was great, but when it was bad it was really, really bad. What can your really expect from an EA game though?

I don't care if it's a classic. I hated it.

This is the only horror game I have played, and I think the experience will be hard for any other game to beat. It's definitely one of the OG's for a reason. I loved the characters, the lore, the ambiance and environmental storytelling, the weapons, the combat and so much more. I felt like I had become part of Isaac's journey by the end. And am I total scardy cat? Yes. Did I play on the harder difficulty? Also yes. Did I almost cry from fear in a couple zones? Final yes. This was a game I hope to remember for a long time to come. A true standout in the genre.

I can't oversell how much this expansion meant to me. A wonderful story, great characters, engaging gameplay and fantastic world design. It was not without its issues, some continuing from forbidden west, but I thoroughly enjoyed this installment and await the third game with much anticipation.

I hated this game. The story was great, the music was wonderful, the art design was great, but the gameplay was clunky and infuriating. Did I finish it, yes. Did I wish I hadn't, also yes.

This game is a true masterpiece. The combat is fluid and engaging, the skill ceiling is high, the story left me guessing at every turn, the music and specatcle gave me chills, and the replay value is unmatched. What an experience. I think games are ruined for me now.

Honestly, there just wasn't enough here to keep me engaged. Most of the chapters don't encourage exploration, the combat is lackluster with little to no skill involved, and the characters are underwhelming on the whole with very little emotional impact. The space episode was the best one that I got to, and even that had me rolling my eyes at some points. I expect more from RPG's, even remasters of old classics. If the combat is boring, the story had better be engaging. If the story is underwhelming, I want to be excited for each battle. Neither of these is the case for this game. It truly overstayed its welcome.

It was a good game, a great game even, but boy howdy did you lose me at the end. I really enjoyed playing it on the hardest difficulty. I did most of the side quests. The characters were loveable and fun. It was beautiful and navigating the world was much more engaging than the first.

I can not think of a game I hated more. What on earth was that?
