Nothing special, more of the same of the main game. If you want to know what I think of the main game read here: https://backloggd.com/u/LeoDroid/review/1118267/

Amazing visuals, but... not much else. FYI: This is my first extraction shooter and I tought I would like this gameplay style better, maybe I just haven't started with the right one. Something I can't exactly put into words is wrong with this game, the pacing of each match is weird and samey even with a pretty big map. I just think it got boring really fast and there's not enough variety to keep it interesting.

I don't have much to say about this game besides that it's my first Silent Hill. I'ts cool as a free to play title and all, and I generally like what they did. I liked the atmosphere they built and how the game shows the struggles and doubts of the protagonist, but I wish the gameplay was more complex. Maybe give the team more time and resources and not make it a free to play title? The monster design and the music are nice, and oh, FMVs are good! The good thing is that now I want to play other Silent Hill titles to see what the fuss is all about.

Celeste 64 is a very nice suprise and cute lil' game! I love the original game, and I was impressed when this popped up. It is very well made, the levels are very well designed and it plays well too. Having an open area to explore like in Bowser's Fury is a great decision. I thought the visuals are more like PS1 or DS than N64 though, but this isn't a criticism, the game looks great. It was also awesome to meet again the cast of characters and have the story be and epilogue of sorts. And I need to mention this was done by the devs in a week, very impressive!!! I'm not exactly craving for this to be a full game however, but I'm very, very excited for Earthblade!

I'm a huge fan of platformers and I've heard only good things about Rayman Origins and Legends, but somehow I never got to play them. And now with the newest Prince of Persia game being released I decided to play the previous games from the studio and I'm pretty impressed. Rayman Origins is great! The controls are tight and the physics are suprisingly unique. The game has a strong sense of momentum when you're controlling the character. The level design is great, but I didn't like how the game is designed with 4 player multiplayer in mind, so some of the lums in the stages are pretty annoying to get when playing alone. The stages are a bit too long IMO. But everything is so well done that I forgot about the game's issues. It reminds me a lot of Donkey Kong Country sometimes, especially in the extra bonus rooms. The game has a very beautiful art presentation that holds up well even 13 years later. The sountrack is fantastic! I'm putting songs from this game on my playlist for sure! I also would like to give a shoutout to the trick treasure levels, they're very fun. All in all a great game, I'm excited to move on to Rayman Legends and later to Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.

When I bought this game mostly because of the hype surrounding the HBO series, I realized I'm part of the problem. I bought a game that I've already played and I already own a great version that's playable on PS5. But IMO The Last of Us is such a great experience that it's worth it, and it was amazing to play this alonside watchcing each episode in the series, a wonderful experience. I really like Uncharted, but Naughty Dog really stepped up its gameplay level with TLOU. I feel like here is where they really found the balance between stealth and good shooting/melee combat. Nobody does characters like Naughty Dog huh? I love the iconic duo Joel and Ellie. The original game is already beautiful and this remaster knocks it out of the park with its visuals, the game is stunning and runs very well in any mode you choose, be it 60fps performance or 30fps quality. I really like the new DualSense features, the pressure triggers for firing guns, rumble for punches and just the overall feeling of the resistance of walking through water is astonishing. All in all, I really like this game and I wish I had time to complete a NG+ playthrough and go for the Platinum trophy. Maybe someday. I'll continue to be part of the unecessary remasters problem by buying The Last of Us Part II Remastered.

2023

I certainly give some points to this game for the artstyle choice, it's really interesting and pretty. But everything else is so dull that I don't know what they really wanted to do with this game. The characters don't feel nice to control at all, everything is super janky, the game glitched and I had to reset the game. The mechanics are unisteresting, there's nothing unique, remarkable or special, and to top it off the Switch version has really terrible framerate for a game that is not graphically complex at all. It has some sparse cute moments, but it's an overall lackluster experience. I don't recommend it.

Spider-Man is one of my favorite games on PS4, and I have now replayed the Remastered version on PS5 playing all the DLC. The game is still great and Insomniac did an impressive technical feat, the game is gorgeous with ray tracing and feels really good to play in 60fps. I still like the story and characters, they're all very well written and likeable. The combat is good and I like the pacing you unlock new skills and gadgets, even tough I didn't use about half of the special suit powers, their variety is welcome. I understand people complaining about the Mary Jane sections, but I think they are quick and a nice change to the flow of the game, and I appreciate any game that is bold enough to have more than one playable character. Now, talking about the DLCs, I was suprised with how good of an epilogue they are, aside from the main villain, the story is impressively engaging and I was surprised with the outcome of one of the characters. The main reason for me to replay this was to play the DLCs so I can play Miles Morales and Spider-Man 2, and I don't regret it. Gimme more Insomniac Games, I kinda want to try Sunset Overdrive now.

Okay so Alan Wake's American Nightmare. And yeah I know I gave this 4 stars rating while I gave the original Alan Wake 3.5 stars but WAIT LEMME EXPLAIN. This game surprised me in many ways, I tought it was some random non-canon arcade game and while it has a very nice arcade mode, the main story is completely canon and very interesting! It provides a lot of insight into what happened in the first game and the years after, while building in what those phenomena are. The gameplay in this is so much better, pretty much everything I complained about the first game is improved here. No more getting the same lanters or same guns every time, no more enemies sneaking up on you while you have no idea or indication where the came from. And now we actually got many types of different guns here, Alan can run a lot longer before getting tired and now the game has enemy variety at last! I'm not gonna spoil what the main gimmick of this is because it surprised me a lot, but it's very nice and well done. Exploring the "open" areas feels good and you actually get rewarded by finding the manuscript pages now besides well, reading them. There are some very cool moments and characters, and Mr. Scratchy is great villain. This feels like one of those weird Kingdom Hearts in-between games and I love it! It's totally my jam! And that little thing during the credits is just very fascinating to me. I love what Remedy is doing and will continue my journey through those games.

I'm writing about Alan Wake, that's funny huh? I finally got to play this game after I really liked Control, my first Remedyverse game. To get right to the point, I enjoyed playing Alan Wake a lot, it's certainly unique and it lives up to the things I heard of it before playing. And now getting to the things I didn't like, I know it's been about 13 years since this game released but the lack of enemy variety bothers me. The combat is ok, but new enemies are few and far between, and the game will just take out your upgraded flashlight and guns and make you get them all over again and again, and it's just irritating. The overly agressive enemies don't help it either. But this isn't what makes this game special, it's the quirkyness of the game, the weird activities between combat sections like listening to radio shows, watching TV programmes and reading Alan's pages are just too good! I like how the game is structured in episodes like a TV series and the way it uses music is so impactful. I loved when I saw something and then tought: oh this makes sense because I know Control's story! And despite it's problems, I liked it a lot and I will for sure continue my journey in playing every Remedyverse game. And I want to revist this game by playing the original Xbox/PC version someday.

The beginning of any written thing, to think about and start writing those first few words, this part is always the hardest to me. And how to start writing about Super Mario Bros. Wonder? I think it is even better than I tought, I didn't know what to expect but I was suprised anyway. Platformers, action 'hack n' slash' games, and RPGs are my favorite video game genres and I was super excited for Wonder even to the point of avoiding watching the latest trailers not to be too spoiled about stage mechanics and other things. You have probably read, listened and/or watched millions of people say this already but I gotta say how impressive the game looks. Everything exhales personality and uniqueness, those animations are super incredible and definetely AAA, the artstyle and the colors are amazing. Have you seen Mario running, crouching, entering/exiting a pipe, jumping, getting a power up? Everything feels so good and well done. The level design never felt samey or overwhelming, everything is carelfully tought and placed, I felt that the stages are smaller in general, and that's not a bad thing at all, I like the Break Time and Badge stages. The new power ups, Elephant Fruit, Bubble Flower and Drill Mushroom are all great and they all control well, you can attack in front of you with the Elephant Fruit, jump in your own bubbles with the Bubble Flower, and go underground and in ceilings with the Drill Mushroom. The stage mechanics never go on for long or feel repetitive. I didn't feel that finding all of the 10-flower Coins was bullshit like some of the Star Coins in past games. Each stage has a Wonder Flower that changes the game mechanics in various ways, and I tought they are also well paced so they don't feel overwhelming, the wonder effects are very interesting in the majority of the times, and you can skip them too if you're coming back later for collectibles. The sountrack is very good and it goes well with the new worlds' themes, I liked how we don't visit the same locations as the Mushroom Kingdom, and the new sceneries are a nice and fresh. I think the badge system is nice even tough I didn't change my badge all that often. The weakest aspect of the game to me are the bosses, I expected them to go crazy with Wonder mechanics and they didn't do that for the most part, the bosses are better than the "New" series though. The online mode is cool too, but I just used it on the Special World, playing with others was nice! In conclusion, Super Mario Wonder is one of the best games I've played this year and a strong GOTY contender in my list. I just hope Nintendo doesn't overuse Wonder in future games as they overused the "New" series. Wonder is one of the best 2D Mario games, and I want replay it in co-op soon!

I'm a huge fan of the Final Fantasy series, and with Final Fantasy XIV being one of my favorites I was very ethusiastic when I heard the news that Square's Creative Business Unit III was in charge of the next mainline game, Final Fantasy XVI. Each new trailer they showed for FFXVI was amazing, later they revealed that PlatinumGames and the Kingdom Hearts team helped with the development of the game, and several staff were Devil May Cry veterans. I tought that we would have the best Final Fantasy ever from watching those trailers and reading news, unfortunately that would not be the case. I started playing this at release, stopped for a long time and came back recently to finish it. I have many problems with Final Fantasy XVI, but it seems like going full action while still maintaining it an RPG wasn't the best decision. The game feels like everybody developed systems separately without exchanging information and just put them together at the end, they don't sinergize with each other at all. The eikonic abilities are cool, but they're not enough to sustain a 60 to 70 hour game, you can't play with anyone else in your party besides Clive, and Clive has junt one type of weapon for the entire game, seriously? I ended up using Garuda for the entire game, because Deadly Embrace and Gouge are so vital for staggering enemies that I couldn't think of another effective way to do this, other Eikon's abilities just aren't good enough. Using Titan is very fun though, since you finally have a block button. The level system is kinda useless as you don't earn that much experience defeating enemies in the field, and they don't even have stagger bars. You don't have to think about gear a lot because you always have the right materials to craft the newest gear set. The majority of the sidequests aren't great, and they just become interesting right before the end, before this they were just pace killers. Hunts are the coolest side activity to do, they are fun to battle and give nice rewards. I don't like that the game is basically divided into "stages", I mean, this is in line with other action games but I expected something different because this is Final Fantasy. The story... Well... It's kinda interesting in the beginning, it has some great scenes and concepts, but I think it loses itself a little when it distances from "we're Game of Thrones". That villain is just not good. The characters are great, I love Clive, but aside from him they're not well developed, I wish I could play as Jill, Torgal, Cid and others. The music is very good! I love Soken in FFXIV, still love him here in XVI. The voice actors are the best, congrats to everyone. And I just want to say that the final boss is awesome and I tought my PS5 would burn. Anyways, I'm hopeful the upcoming DLCs and PC version solves some of those problems because I really want to like this game more. And I will end this review by quoting a friend: "I will leave it these three stars, which don't seem like much, but know that they shine very brightly".

I didn't get to play New Super Mario Bros. U back in the Wii U days mainly because I was burned out of the "New" 2D series and had other things I considered a priority to play. But now with the Super Mario Wonder hype I finally decided to play the Deluxe version on the Switch and I'm positively surprised! The game no doubt has the best level design and visuals of the entire New series, it's incredibly fun to find all of the games secrets, and I want to say that I was impressed by the Van Gogh style stage back in 2012, and It's still amazing today in my OLED Switch screen. I appreciate a lot when the game mimicks Super Mario World because it's my favorite 2D Mario game, the world map is nice, and freely choosing where to go and having the possibility to find secret exits and skip entire worlds is fenomenal. The variety of level gimmicks and enemies is very well paced. I liked the baby Yoshis mechanics and how you can take them to almost any stage, I found them more fun to play than the main power up, the Flying Squirrel Suit, which is pretty tricky to control and I end up falling in pits most of the times I try to use it. I liked the option to play as any character, Toadette is pretty interesting and I used her during my Star Coin collecting cleanup. Peachette is a kinda obnoxious concept IMO, but it's fun to play as her as she is a better Flying Squirrel Suit + the Penguin Suit's swimming. I also want to complain about how they didn't update the saving system in the Deluxe version of the game, it made me lose progress in six stages of the Star World cause I forgot to manually save, this is so stupid!
But to conclude, this is one of the great 2D Mario games, the game is unique and can't be recreated in Mario Maker 1 or 2. I will for sure return to play Super Luigi U in the future.

It's so good to be back to one of my first PS3 games! Lollipop Chainsaw is still awesome in many ways, I love how insane and lunatic the game is! The team-up between Suda51 and James Gunn is beautifully weird! Replaying this game after playing the No More Heroes games I can really identify the influences: the unique boss battles, over the top combat and exagerated humor, this mixture works very well in my opinion. I love the characters, let's just take a minute to appreciate Juliet Starling, she's beautiful and amazing, applauses for Juliet! I love her interactions with Nick and her sisters, they're so likeable! The game's artstyle works very well and the soundtrack is bonkers good, I can sense James Gunn's touch in this part. The game plays very well and the combat is good. It's fun to buy new combos and learn new abilities for your chainsaw, I think the game utilizes its mechanics well, the boss battles are a highlight, they're incredibly fun and crazy! The controller rumble when you rip zombies apart with your chainsaw feels very good! I like the arcade vibes of the game a lot, you even receive a trophy at the end of each stage like the games made by PlatinumGames. I might go back to 100% it and I hope they don't screw up the remake or remaster or whatever they are doing right now, this game is very special to me.

There's no denying that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a game that had an absurd amount of hype built in the years leading up to its release. Honestly, the dev team had a task so difficult after the revolutionary Breath of the Wild that I'm relieved I'm not one of them, and they did it, I'm impressed, the game is very good overall. Nevertheless, this is my personal opinion and I didn't have that amazing, perfect experience I saw many other people talking about. Firstly, the game strongly advises you to go towards a certain dungeon at the beginning of the game, and this dungeon is one of the worst in Zelda history, seriously, I was deeply underwelmed by most of the dungeons and that's something I expected to be improved since they weren't so hot on the previous game either. And I really dig the whole "Divine Beast" aesthetic that BotW had, which is completely missing here. The sky is interesting but that's another let down for me, there are only a few islands and you do basically the same thing in all of them, even the ocean islands in Wind Waker were more varied than this. Sure, the new abilities, Ultra Hand, Ascend, Recall and Fuse are fantastic and better than any of those in the previous game, however I was not impressed at all by the way the game utilizes them and they get old fast, especially in the game's Shrines. And speaking of Shrines, let's talk about them, they are also worse than those in BotW, and most of them are something like: use Ascend once, over. Use Recall once, over. Bring this crystal here, over. It got boring very fast for me, and in the end I was just doing it for the thrill of exploring and finding the Shrines than for the puzzles inside them. And now the building mechanic: It's cool but I'm not very into free building games, and most of the time I built the same plane or car over and over without any hints of variety from the game itself, maybe the problem is me. And this is just something that happened with me, but it affected my experience playing the game and it's worth mentioning here: I did kind of a sequence break that skipped a whole interesting section of the game and I had to look up in the internet how to do that because the game just told me to go ahead and I hated that I had no guidance from the game, is it open, linear or what? Identity crisis. Before talking about what I liked I want to say that I felt like Tears of the Kingdom threw enemies a lot at me, more than usual, and the combat isn't stellar and some enemies don't have an interesting set of attacks and just repeat the same two or three. I didn't hate weapon durability in BotW but it bugged me here, but that's the least of the problems, I also hated when I was exploring and I found the exact pieces of armor that were in BotW, I didn't feel rewarded enough. Let's talk about what I like so that this review doesn't sound so negative. The caves and the Depths are awesome to explore, I loved lighting up the Depths and figuring out its connection to the surface geography. The story is better told and the memories are more interesting to find now. The Gleeoks aren't as cool as Guadians were in my opinion, but they fill the "menacing enemy" role very well, the battles with them are very good. The artstyle of the game is still beautiful, I love to just take in the landscapes! And I liked to see some of those characters again, Riju's new design rocks and Sidon is so likeable! Shoutout to Penn too, he's very nice! And let's talk about the ending, that's so much better than BotW's and it really impressed me, it's very special! And let's all admire how great Ganondorf is this game please? Ocarina of time is still my favorite Zelda game and I loved all the references with sages, Ganondorf and et cetera. To conclude, the game plays very well and it's extremely well made and polished, I don't want to sound too negative about the game, I was still very addicted and played for hundreds of hours. I just think Breath of the Wild is more remarkable and rounds up better than this one. Thank you if you read all my rambling until here!
