Lots of fun. Some minor complaints, police at times felt more like an annoyance to be gotten rid of than an obstacle to overcome, and a few secrets feel a bit too obtuse. But incredible game nonetheless, that consistently surprised me with additional gameplay depth, and absolutely oozes style. The art direction, the animation, and the music, oh man the music, all so good. Had difficulty deciding between 4 and 4.5 so think of this as a 4.25.

Technical marvel, would kill for a talk or 3 on the engineering work that went into this. Puzzle design was consistently passable, with a few fun high points.

bits and pieces of arkane shine through, but ultimately a game that needed more time in the oven, and to not be a multiplayer number go up looter shooter. didnt hate my time with it, more so just frustrated at the squandered potential.

replayed 5 years later and man what an incredible game. did a shadow clean hands run and had a blast, and am doing a ng+ run now. clockwork mansion still fucks of course, a crack in the slab was cool but man i would love to see more iterations of the concept; shifting between versions of the same map has been done before, though they did do it well, but the mechanics of cause and effect were really only explored in bespoke puzzles. which, again, they did very well! i just really want to see what they could do next with that.
