Nightmare of Decay

This is a lovely homage to all of those old and classic survival horror games. Out of all these new survival horror games that have been coming out (Tormented Souls, Alisa, Them and Us, etc), I think that this is by far the best one. The story is very campy and entertaining, and the gameplay is really damn good. The first person perspective works really well with this too. It stays true to the tropes of those old classic survival horror games, while having a completely different perspective. It's very impressive. If I do have one complaint, it's that the puzzles aren't the best. Even so, the exploration aspect of the game is amazing, and whoever designed the mansion here did a phenomenal job. It's not very scary, but it's also not really trying to be. It's just a big homage to old Horror video games.

a must play for resident evil fans. it's got all the hallmarks of classic survival horror RE games, mostly taking influence from RE4 and the first game, but it still manages to distinguish itself with its writing. nightmare of decay is well put together with excellent level design, tense combat, and polished enemy encounters that vary to keep it fresh through its very short run time. even with the obvious inspiration of resident evil, it can be enjoyed without being a resident evil afficionado.

This game nice short and sweet (or bloody, depending on how you look at it.)
It has all the tropes you expect from PS1 RE1, but never overstays its welcome. On Normal, I beat it in around 1.5 hours.
It's combat seemed quite balanced, and understandable.
I'd recommend it if you like Survival Horror.

An excellent indie title that takes many elements from Resident Evil 1 and RE4 and throws in a few easter eggs to other horror games. Takes only an hour or more to beat for a normal playthrough and I enjoyed every minute. I'm not one for speedruns or challenge modes, so I'm content with my one playthrough. Highly recommended.
