My first real attempt at playing a visual novel type of game. Some legitimate spooky parts to the game that got me good 🤣

Was pretty fun to play through the original version of this game. The graphics etc. haven't aged super well but I was able to get past it pretty quickly and I really enjoyed the gameplay.

The story... I have no idea what happened at all but I don’t think that had a negative impact on me.

The trophy list is a bit crap if you're going for the platinum. Any trophy that requires you to play for x hours to achieve is so arbitrary IMO. I think a majority of people just let the game sit idle to get the trophy so it doesn't encourage any game exploration. Platinum trophy unlocked but don't yet own the DLC.

Was an enjoyable way to spend some time.

Got the platinum trophy, still a ton of DLC to go back to eventually but I'm done for now.

Graphics are pretty excellent on PS5. A lot of the same mechanics as the previous game which I enjoyed.

However, unskippable cut scenes, really in this day and age? What the heck?!

Plus wall crawling is very bad. Want to crawl around a corner or over some ducting? No way not a chance.

Music and the story beats are pretty good but some plot points were pretty obvious and I saw them coming a mile away.

This was a fun nostalgic game for someone who played the original back on the PS2. I enjoyed the aesthetics and the art style. Collecting and using all the weapons was quite enjoyable plus PK throwing people into space never got old.

That said, this was one of the few games where I really noticed pop-in. I normally don't see pop-in but playing on PS5 it was super distracting.

Also, for me, the side missions became pretty repetitive pretty quickly so grinding out the Platinum trophy proved to be a slog.

What a phenomenal game. My second Yakuza game but first Yakuza platinum. Loved the story and couldn't wait to work through all the side stories. Really enjoyed the decision to switch to RPG for this game, for me it didn't really seem like a grind as I was having so much fun 🙂 Can't wait to play the rest of the games in the series.

Phenomenal game in terms of graphics and story. Accessibility options are also very well implemented.

Post game clean up to get the completion wasn't super fun tho. Things like traversal and lack of fast travel became super tedious.

This was such a fun game to play back in the day. I don't think it's aged well in terms of the controls etc. so a remake would be very welcomed 😅

Nightmare fuel 😅 fun enough puzzle game that is pretty unique it has to be said.

This was such an adorable game!
Plus the concept itself was pretty fun and addictive.

A pretty fun game overall. I enjoyed the aesthetics and all the retro music. Plus the game had some fun features and a decent story.

However, it became repetitive pretty quickly in terms of the limited combat mechanics.

The frequent and frankly irritating dialog (why are they all so snarky all the time?) combined with the huddle up feature made it tough to enjoy finishing the game for me.

Maybe if the game was shorter I would have enjoyed it more as it really dragged on for the last 5 or so chapters 🤔
