Very stylish but paper thin game. Simple gameplay, repetitive open world activates, even simpler main story with barely anything going on, only a literal handful of characters who get very little characterization. With how little unique content there is compared to size of the map, it should have been a smaller 5 hour long linear game instead of this huge dead city you have to clean up like a glorified janitor.

This score is for base game only. DLC is a trash number-go-up grind with barely any new content. Don't bother with them unless you love excel spreadsheets. Do give base game a try though

Step backwards compared to Nioh in almost every way. Keeps every flaw of Nioh while losing the big selection of unique weapons with customizable movesets. Level design is atrocious. You can jump and even have the displeasure of using the worlds worst double jump but the levels are not designed around that. You keep bumping into arbitrary invisible walls while trying to explore, the only places where you can actually use the wall jump are plastered with white paint. Levels have no natural flow or sense of place, it's just randomly placed samy houses straight from Nioh 1. The same gimmicks from that game show up again like level in burning city where you have to extinguish fire via random giant water pots, story is a complete nothing while being STILL the same shit as Nioh 1 with evil wizard turning everyone into monsters and you getting the same spirit cutscene after the boss fight. There's ZERO depth in combat you can just pick a fast weapon and mash while pressing parry once in a while and beat most of the game within 1-3 tries. Parrying feels nice but that's about it. There's only a handful of enemy types and even in that small roster not all of them are winners. Bosses are forgettable aside from maybe 3. Hub world where nothing happens. Removing the map screen for no reason thus making you sit through more loading screens if you want to upgrade gear or do side missions. The list goes on, just regression on every step. Technically it's a mess, runs way worse then Nioh 2 while not looking that much better, even straight up bad in places, i had a bug where screen sometimes started going white making it near impossible to see what the enemy is going and having to reload the level. I didn't have high expectations and still ended up being severely disappointed.

Didn't even get to the ice planet. Combat got way faster, all the impact is gone, you barely have to aim at the limbs. Couldn't be bothered.

I tried getting throught it twice, but got bored in an hour both times. Third time the charm?

Hated the worldbuilding and wasn't a fan of writing style. Dropped after less then an hour.

Very good and atmospheric, just got tired of survival aspect after a while, will return one day.
