I did not play the campaign, I will not play the campaign, therefore I am not mad about the campaign. This review is about the multiplayer coming from the point of view of someone that likes COD multiplayer, especially the last few iterations.
The inclusion of the original Modern Warfare 2's maps immediately solved Modern Warfare 2...2's problem of having dogshit maps but otherwise good gunplay and movement. Keeping MW2-2's guns in this installment is also a huge benefit, because boy they did NOT add a lot of new ones and most of them feel a bit lackluster with the universal health buff to 150. Laser accurate, not high damage. The older guns fix this with their huge stopping power. Tactical view is one of the best things they've ever added, being able to pop that hoe up real fast no matter what attachments you have on it is so nice when in close quarters. At the time of writing Season 1 just dropped and the new maps are solid, much better than most of last game's maps.
I don't care about zombies but I've heard this iteration of it is good, I don't play Warzone much so I really have no input on that other than this year's Halloween event was very scary and the jumpscaring loot boxes are maybe the funniest and meanest thing a dev has ever done to it's playerbase.
I really don't understand why anyone is mad about this game having a dogshit campaign, none of these games have good campaigns and all the replayability/value in the purchase of this product is in the multiplayer which is again, to be crystal clear, probably the best it's ever been.

Big fan of how this one plays, it's the logical gameplay conclusion of the first 2 games. The prologue is great and is a perfect entry point to the Total War franchise as a whole (even better since it's on Gamepass). I'm just not a huge fan of the base races this time around. The Daemonic races were never appealing and the 2 human nations aren't grabbing me like the human/elven races of the previous games.
Once we get the legacy races playable this could be a contender for best Total War game, Shogun 2 and Rome 1 better watch out.

Originally had this at a 2 from the launch, but since it went free to own on the EGS I gave it another try with everything already unlocked. Once the awful carrot attached to the terrible stick was removed, I could actually take a step back and realize this is a gorgeous game with incredible sound design and top notch arcade'y gameplay. Really captures the essence of the original 2 games, something the first of the 2 newer games lacked.
