I did not play the campaign, I will not play the campaign, therefore I am not mad about the campaign. This review is about the multiplayer coming from the point of view of someone that likes COD multiplayer, especially the last few iterations.

The inclusion of the original Modern Warfare 2's maps immediately solved Modern Warfare 2...2's problem of having dogshit maps but otherwise good gunplay and movement. Keeping MW2-2's guns in this installment is also a huge benefit, because boy they did NOT add a lot of new ones and most of them feel a bit lackluster with the universal health buff to 150. Laser accurate, not high damage. The older guns fix this with their huge stopping power. Tactical view is one of the best things they've ever added, being able to pop that hoe up real fast no matter what attachments you have on it is so nice when in close quarters. At the time of writing Season 1 just dropped and the new maps are solid, much better than most of last game's maps.

I don't care about zombies but I've heard this iteration of it is good, I don't play Warzone much so I really have no input on that other than this year's Halloween event was very scary and the jumpscaring loot boxes are maybe the funniest and meanest thing a dev has ever done to it's playerbase.

I really don't understand why anyone is mad about this game having a dogshit campaign, none of these games have good campaigns and all the replayability/value in the purchase of this product is in the multiplayer which is again, to be crystal clear, probably the best it's ever been.

Big fan of how this one plays, it's the logical gameplay conclusion of the first 2 games. The prologue is great and is a perfect entry point to the Total War franchise as a whole (even better since it's on Gamepass). I'm just not a huge fan of the base races this time around. The Daemonic races were never appealing and the 2 human nations aren't grabbing me like the human/elven races of the previous games.
Once we get the legacy races playable this could be a contender for best Total War game, Shogun 2 and Rome 1 better watch out.

Originally had this at a 2 from the launch, but since it went free to own on the EGS I gave it another try with everything already unlocked. Once the awful carrot attached to the terrible stick was removed, I could actually take a step back and realize this is a gorgeous game with incredible sound design and top notch arcade'y gameplay. Really captures the essence of the original 2 games, something the first of the 2 newer games lacked.

More like Gears 4.5/5
Huge improvement over 4. Visually stunning, fixed almost every problem I had with 4 (annoying fights with Swarm power enemies, dumb squad AI) and only introduced 1 glaring new one (no save file? Really? A lobby system that erases my side quest completion when I pick it back up the next day?). A well paced story that takes you to a wide variety of set pieces, well written characters, plenty of cut scenes to kick back and enjoy the visual spectacle of.
For the first time since 2006, I'm looking forward to the next Gears game.

The swarm are way less fun to fight then Locusts, the last boss was supremely lame and the game ends so abruptly it gave me whiplash. It was pretty and handled well, though. The story wasn't too bad, probably just gonna roll straight into playing 5.

tl;dr: This is League of Legends to XCOM's DOTA

I'm a little baby that's bad at xcom games but likes them on a fundamental level and this feels tailor made for me. Even outside of the easier difficulty, there's some quality of life changes that xcom purists will probably not be too happy with but tiny diaper people like me will love.
Units can just stand themselves back up after being downed (once), there's no penalty in a following mission for using a unit that was downed over and over, you can actually trust hit percentages when shooting something, grenades are plentiful and overpowered, the gear and talent trees throw so many passive chances for extra shots or action points it feels like your turns never end.
Heavily recommended for people with 1 brain cell that every once in a while thinks the xcom games are cool

It's a dollar via Games Pass trial and I've already gotten more than my .99 cents worth.

Does that make Icefrog the sperm of dota

Nice fallback, kill and heal.

Finally, the sequel to a Legend of Zelda game for adults like me

There has not been a Total War game before or since Shogun 2 that is even close to as good.

Finally, a Legend of Zelda for adults like me

Perfect game other than a lame final boss

I'm pretty sour on the NRS formula, but the story in this carries the game.

The only time in all of the Naruto franchise that Tenten is oppressively overpowered and even thought about.
