Bio
Proud Midwestern gamer. Mostly play a lot of old school or retro-style games but try to be as open minded to different kinds of genres and games as well. Not too big on open world games, though, so please excuse the lack of them in my reviews and logged games.

This is how you do a remake. Graphics look amazing, gameplay is much better with the quick time events being completely gone and the Survival Horror element is given a bigger focus while still retaining the action heavy approach of the original.

I will admit to being skeptical of a Resident Evil 4 remake seeing how iconic the original game is and how Village already felt like a modernized RE4 in terms of gameplay. Never doubt Capcom, though, because they once again pulled through with another stellar remake. That said, this game doesn’t fuck around on the difficulty so be prepared for that. Me being a masochist I played this game on Hardcore and I wouldn’t advise that for first time players unless if they want a challenge. What a year for horror fans. We should thank our lucky stars.

I still prefer Super but I can’t deny how damn good this game is and it is a testament to how well it still holds up. I have played all the versions of Prime but stuck with this one the most. (Helps that my save files didn’t get wiped without warning like when I played the original GameCube game)

Definitely one of the best of the year. The updated graphics, different control options, and so much more make it a top three candidate in my eyes.

A solid time but very repetitive overall.
