[SPOILERS FOR NIOH 2 BELOW]

The end of Nioh 2 kinda sorta had the abolition of the feudal era and the DLCs briefly show the evolution of the government. It's brief, though.

Hm I was wondering if The Great Ace Attorney could fit in there since it takes place during the Meiji era, but most of the story happens in London so maybe not. The game often tackles the relationship between Japan and the West but it's far from its main focus, so again I really don't know if it's worthy of being on the list.

I haven’t played it myself so its hard to say but I’ve been siding on no since its in victorian london almost all the game (like how in sakura wars 5 the mc is japanese but goes to new york which is where the game takes place)
