VVVVVV explores its core mechanic in single levels to a fuller extent than some AAA games do across their entire duration. A fundamentally perfect videogame. I couldn't think of a single genuine flaw here if I was forced to. This feels weird to say since it wasn't that long ago but I've got a lot of nostalgia for the late 2000s-mid 2010s when it comes to indie games and this game really hits that spot for me. Avoid the super popular ones which mostly suck (Braid, Fez, etc) and there are some real gems there. Super Win the Game, FTL, and Titan Souls are a few that come to mind. I think I first played VVVVVV on my iPod in like 2014 and didn't beat it then or when I got it on Steam a couple years later. Actually, I dont think I've ever completed this game until now, despite playing it plenty of times. Maybe once. It really isn't as hard as I remember, outside of a few incredibly aggravating trinkets, but it is just as fun to play and to listen to. Again, basically a perfect game. It's only 5 dollars on Steam and probably worth twice that much. Check it out if you haven't already!
