Game that I think are influential, important, and impactful to the progression of video games.

Contender for being the first video game
Arguably the first of it's kind
It might be the first video game.
Okay, at latest, THIS is the first video game.
The origin of the term "MUD" and the progenitor of the MMORPG.
While not the first, it is the most widely remembered early purely text-based adventure.
Where did the roguelike genre get its name from?
Nintendo made a funny gorilla game and hasn't left me alone since.
The typical response to the question of "what caused the American Gaming Crash of 1983?". Crippled Atari and gave Nintendo an easy slot to fill in their stead.
The grandfather of all visual novels.
Popularized side-scrolling games.
The template for almost every RPG after it.
While not the first Kart racing game I would assume more people credit this as an influence than something like Power Drift.
The Z-axis is pretty cool.
Imagine conflating an entire subgenre to the name of a single game. Made shotguns one of the defining weapons in first person shooters. Big step for multiplayer and modding in games.

Popularized survival horror, heck, this game coined the term "survival horror".
The Z-axis is pretty cool. Dynamic cameras are also nice
Effectively established the market for Japanese role-playing games in the West.

Popularized interactive storytelling in video games.
Showed off the Unreal Engine, which has evolved into something most games use.
Trailblazer for Quick-Time events and arguably open world games.
Partially responsible for the creation of Steam.

Also you put Adventure for the VCS/2600 when you meant to put Colossal Cave adventure
