I didn't actually play this, but I'm just here to say that you shouldn't get a PS5 for this game. Just get a fucking used PS3 on Ebay and play the original, it's way cheaper to do that.

I can't believe that people have the fucking audacity to say that this is bringing Demon's Souls to a new generation, this is purely made to sell PS5s.

Edit: This review has aged well, cause the PS5 is now on it's last legs, that's pretty funny. Do I like this review? No, even though I still agree with everything I said. I'll leave it up anyways cause some people like it, and cause it's funny that the PS5 is now about to be obsolete.

This is a really sad game to rate this low, because the earlier games in this series were my childhood. I don't even know why I loved this that much as a child, because it's filled to the brim with reference humor that I didn't understand. I understand the reference humor now, and is it any better because of that? No. There's nothing interesting or clever about the reference humor, it's just "I got that reference". The reference humor makes up about half of the humor in these games, the rest of the humor is slapstick. Although you could say all of the humor is slapstick, because it uses the references to create slapstick pretty often. I wouldn't call the slapstick bad, but slapstick just isn't really my thing. There isn't actually anything outstanding about the slapstick that I would appreciate if I was into slapstick. It's the routine "someone gets hurt" type slapstick, and I think it would work better if it was more over-the-top, but whenever it gets over-the-top, it just becomes action. Overall, it's not a terrible game, but the only thing you can get out of it is nostalgia.

This isn't actually a bad game. I just can't give this game credit for most of the good things it does, because it's derivative of Dark Souls to a point where it's no longer a souls-like, and it's just a Dark Souls ripoff.
