Difficulty is punishing for the sake of being punishing. Many sections promote only stealth but with enemy AI that is so strongly attuned to the player's position the gameplay loop quickly falls apart. Cool visuals and some standout creature design but an unengaging story and characters, tedious gameplay, over-abundance of cutscenes for events that could be happening in-game and Silent Hill/Resident Evil parodies/references out the wazoo, it made me wish I was playing a better game.
