This game having special kill animations on unarmed is actually godlike, get mods to make it viable though.
Oblivion unarmed can be really cool when at the right balance. I felt like i was bob and weaving enemy attacks trying to use power moves.
The punching in this can be pretty fun and its flashy

The fist weapons in DS3 Cinders are very fun. The Caestus has fucking slides and a huge knockup kick. The barenaked fist weapon is also fun as hell.
THE BONE FISTS ARE SO COOL. BRING THEM BACK FUCK.
The cestus in Elden Ring kind of rule because the heavy attacks will stagger most human-ish enemies. Makes timed jabs feel really good. Sometimes though they feel bad, depends on enemies.
While it does not have my favourite punches with actual game play, the spectacle of the punches are the best in this entire list
This is like quintessential unarmed combat video game.
Dante's Balrog is awesome. Vergil's Beowulf is even awesomer.
It's got a punching Skill Line, and it has abilities to make you a walking tank.
LITTLE MAC BABY
Specially playing as Chris in Mercenaries. Not the most robust punching combat. But its fast and visceral.
it's not punch 100% of the time, but the gameplay is just good and Tifa is awesome.
Your fists are probably the best weapon in this game. You can even get 3 out at once.

The empty energy sword in this game is insanely strong and swings really fast.
It's serviceable. It's fun when enemies get gibbed.
The punch weapons are cool, not the best but still i like punching.

They really need to rerelease God Hand so I can play it. I kind of stopped playing Yakuza 0, I might get back to it eventually.
as a punch girl, i'm happy to see other gamers who enjoy punching in video games too much. i'm so stubborn about it that i somehow made unarmed punch build in unmodded skyrim "work". tho i'm so mixed on punching in souls games, it's my preferred build in games that have it, but i feel the hurtboxes on bosses are super not balanced around it. like elden ring godrick is either cursed for me or just broken cuz my punch runs often come to an end there since his hurtbox just like, does not register the punches at all unless i do claws or something too. i end up just falling back on biggest sword possible in souls games cuz of that
also drakengard 3, kinda the same boat as nier automata but you get your first fist weapons pretty early in the game as opposed to having to wait until playthru B like with automata. also ff7 with tifa, which is like 50% the reason it's my favorite game. sorry for the world vomit but punching just rules, good ass list

@theia no you're good, i love words. Yeah the hitboxes in Souls games can suck ass. I remember there was some boss in one of them where like they dont have a stomache so your punches just dont hit when use normal lock on. I would reccommend DS3 Cinders Mod if you can, makes all the fists really cool.
I also forgot(?) to put FF7R for Tifa, even if that isn;t like the majority of the game, it was stilly pretty fun, great combat system.
