I've wanted this game forever, just cause the novelty of this game, I like Metroidvanias, and I heard its good. Finally got it in a bundle for cheap and it just doesn't click. I just really do not like that I cannot "Free aim" and am stuck in omnidirectional aiming. Also I am finding that guns outside of first/third person are the most boring weapons in the world.

I do really like what they do with the Darksiders series and change up the games every entry, AND that they actually got to make every Horseman playable. I do find this isometric take very boring though, the gameplay just feels very non compelling.

What if Evil Cars cheat from Saints Row but fucked up and scary? It works because it is fucked up and tense at least. First person sprinting your ass while you hear a car barreling towards your ass, hoping you can fucking make it over the barrier to make it crash. Very good use of lighting and sound design to make shit tense.

Darksiders 3 is much more enjoyable to me than the previous 2 entries, and that's probably because the action games that are popular now are Souls-likes and not God of War (classic). This game still keeps identity traits from the older games, but keeps them translated into this "Souls-like" format. It quite frankly does stuff I've been wanting to see experimented with and I like what it did. You have a limited amount of weapons, and they have a fairly limited amount of moves to them, but they are identical to character action games (ex; X, X, X, X; X, Pause, X). I wish there were more combo moves to use, but hey, its fine enough. I wish it were a little more Character Action-y with animations and allowing me to use items like instantly, cause I get annoyed when I cant just instantly pop a estus, but whatever.

The game also does what I've been wanting Fromsoft to give me, and that's Metroidvania exploration powers. With each weapon you get, you also get a power to let you explore (Fire = Charge Jump, Ice = Walk on Water + Wall Jump, etc.). I wish the moves you got could be used in battle too, but the new weapons are sufficient for that.

I also just really enjoyed Fury's character, she is just cool. Good design, good voice action, good little arc. Bad-ass Battle Babe.

I do find that this game can get really fucking annoying with some puzzles, and some bosses. One particular boss (Gluttony) is probably one of the worst bosses I have ever fought. Just fucking annoying and the second phase is "Have him suck up explosive barrels" but somehow done worst than a fucking PS2 game from 14 fucking years ago.

Besides some annoying shit, its a dope Souls-Like/Character Action game.

If you aren't fucking with Darksiders 1, I doubt this is gonna change your mind. I know this game has weapon variety so thats dope, but fuck me man these games need a sprint button or just fucking faster or something.

I think Darksiders is Cool™. I'm not exactly sure I fuck with this style of Hack and Slashes where the primary way to get health is from chests and not like checkpoints or rest points. You can only get health by from executions when you are low on health which doesn't help because I'm low on health because these enemies are fucking me! IDK, I died on the segment where you are in a angel killling competition with the Scottish dude and it felt so extremely drawn out and I was not doing that again. I also was already tired of "Go to these spots to be teleported to a battle arena to free the Giant Rock Men".

Also the audio mixing on Warmastered cutscenes is bad. Sound effects are so much quietter than the voices.

Beat the main campaign and thought this was dope, puzzles were just right enough for me to not get frustrated, and the minamalist style is good. I then started the first bonus set of levels, got stumped on one puzzle and started a downward spiral of constantly looking at a guide so I think I should just call it quits.

The Adventures of Tintin: The Game is a pretty neat 2D platformer slightly bogged down by Licensed Game "Alternate ways of Play". What I mean is that between levels there are Crash Bandicoot plane flying, Skyward Sword on rails sword swinging, and driving/turret section. These kind of start waring their welcome pretty fast, but the actual levels are dope.

This game is made by the Ubisoft studio that makes Rayman (old and new) and most recently made the new Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, so this studio has the pedigree for 2D platforming. It's pretty simplistic, but it frequently had little gimmicks that made me go "oh! neat!". A main mechanic of this game is picking up and throwing different items. If you throw banana's on someone, they will slide until they fall down a floor or hit a wall. Beach balls will bounce off walls and maybe hit multiple people. Cauldrons will land on people's hands making them hit allies. These aren't used all the time, but its still pretty neat.

The clouds in this game also look fucking crazy, I kind of think they used some of the UbiArt Engine to make them look that good.

Overall, just a neat short 2D platform adventure.

Jumanji: The Video Game is a 4 person co-op with basically 3 forms of play. Walking down a basically linear hallway collecting 4 Jumanji pieces with bad guys attacking you, walking down a linear hallway full of traps and still collecting the Jumanji pieces, and inbetween those sections are Protect The Point sections where you protect a thing until the bar fills up and hordes attack you. I played 1 level and I probably protected the point 4 times, with doing the other 2 things 2 times each. Not very thought provoking game and very very brainless.

The most interesting thing this game adds to this formula is that the team shares 1 crystal that powers you up, but if you hold on to it for too long it hurts you. I felt like I never had to worry about the consequences when I forgot to swap it, so its kind of whatever in this game; but I do think its a novel idea to have 1 thing a co-op team needs to swap around frequently.

Like most games made by Outright Games, made for 2 year olds.

I was really fucking with this game, it is bombastic, cartoonishly violent, and has 2D puzzle-platforming combat that makes me go "ohhh! thats awesome!". But Sadly, my Xbox 360 finally got the Red Ring of Death and this attempt at this game has been shelved. Pour one out for a 14 year old console. 🫡

I just keep abandoning games! I guess I just hate them now! Deathloop is kind of dope. The artstyle and architectural design is fine, I really like Colt and Julianna's personalities and voice actors. What I don't really like is the structure of this game. The tutorial is really long and I just wanna be let lose, but then when I got loose, I fucked up the objective (I forgot to jump I guess and dropped the ghost vacuum machine in the ocean, so I can't suck up the visonary(have to restart the level)). I think I would just vastly prefer a normal level structure like Dishonored. It's dope they did this, but I don't wanna play it.

So extremely filtered because I cannot stand how these bosses are structured. I am The Impatient Gamer™, and I do not want to die to a boss then just do the same string of attacks over and over. Also kind of pisses me off how long it takes, like I'm just a little guy not doing anything and Undyne cannot chill the fuck out.

Besides me being filtered due to skill issue, I kind of don't understand why I didnt feel very much playing this. I like that games made by singular person have the ability to just do whatever the fuck they want, and Toby Fox does that, I just didn't care? I found the dog stuff and the Nabtsablook laying down space chill scene charming, but like I felt disappointed I wasn't filled with glee.

Yeah I think its dope, but I guess just another game Not For Me.

The void is a game developed Ice-Pick Lodge, most famous for developing Pathologic 1 and 2. This is their second game after their first, Pathologic. As you might assume from these dev's this game is hostile to the player. The world is dreary and abandoned (for the most part), and the gameplay is stressful, tedious, and has consequences for playing poorly.

This game tasks you with collecting color in a world basically devoid of it. You must collect color, and grow it in gardens, or mine it from ore deposits, maybe even find scraps; but mostly you will be farming. You fill a tree with color and it will give you color over a couple "cycles", and then once its empty, you cannot use that tree for quite a while. Not understanding how this fully worked, I borked my first 5 hours into this game and basically had to start a new playthrough.

I started again, however, because the ambience, vibe, and visuals of this game are crazy. Each sister has their own unique worlds that are so beautiful I just stood there and looked for a while. The small areas you get to explore kind of remind of Hypnagogia, just like small dream-like locations that exist. The cutscenes, dialogue, and everything just make me go "woah. This is fucking Video Games."

Sadly, I also abandoned this run because the gameplay becomes too tedious, and I kind of just really didn't wanna start the game up to play it whenever I thought about it. At first, the gameplay is engaging because you are managing your colors, trying to grow them without growing too much. At that point I only played small sessions because it taxed my brain quite a lot, couldn't handle longer sessions. Eventually though I got to the point where you can start fighting the primary antagonists, the 10 Brothers. I was following a guide and was way ahead power curve wise, so I got like 6 of them before the game tells you to do it. Then I realized I have all I need except to fight the final boss, except you have to wait until the 30th cycle to fight him, which was 9 away, which is a long time. I just gave up cause I didn't wanna jack my pud for 9 cycles, I get what the game is and I think its too tedious at this point.

Despite that, I still think this game is something you can only create in this medium. This is a game that fucking shows you what Video Games™ can be.

I don't know, sauceless? Wasn;t in the mood? Don't wanna play a Besthesda-esque game that isnt oblivion, fallout 3/newvegas, skryim? Idk, just generally didn't care. I think this Spacer's Choice Edition looked very pretty when it wasnt way too dark.
