Entrancing puzzle game. A vast majority of the puzzles do a good job of luring you into solutions slowly and make you feel like your catching on. What keeps the game from being a contender for a genre GOAT is that there are just enough levels that feel too abstract or unintuitive that aren't fun to explore.

Not quite as good as it's immediate sequel, but still a fantastic arcadey shooter experience in the star wars universe. The maps are fantastic, and fun was the clear priority. Worth playing today, even if it's just to appreciate where 2 is built from

Cartoony PS2 TPS platformer is very much in my wheelhouse, but Jak 2 is a tonal mess, and not as refined as it's competitors in the era. Jak 3 is the much better pick

One of the defining roguelikes of the last several years. Very fun to pickup and play a run, and the build variety is unrivaled in the genre. At times the rng can feel unfairly stacked against you, but that's a minor complaint

2004

17 years later and I'm still surprised people like Jak 2 more than 3. Jak 1 being better is probably also my opinion, but they're so wildly different it's hard to compare

Jak 3 is much more interesting thematically and more tonally consistent than Jak 2, and the gunplay is as good as the series gets. The driving is fun, and I'm just a sucker for the vibes of the series.

Loot system is terrible, but the cosmetic customization is neat and the characters feel really different from each other in a fun way. It's not an elite 2D fighter, but it's fun and an easy game to recommend for people who like DC

A tough, addicting puzzle roguelike in a tactics shell. The different factions are all really unique puzzles to solve, and trying to maximize your synergies is such a good time. An underappreciated game and an easy one to recommend

Mod out the intro and you have yourself a very consistent, enjoyable from start to finish crpg.

Why I rate it this highly is the lore. Fallout 1 and 2 make up my favorite crpg lore/world ever, and the foundational story here makes FNV am even better game. The characters here are believable and morally grey (as they should be in a nuclear fallout) the dialogue is witty and evocative, and the factions are at their best here. The gameplay is dated and it sometimes doesn't do a great job of guiding players, but it's great nonetheless

EUROJANK.

SoC is a fantastic thematic FPS that feels constantly tense, and gunplay that rewards careful planing and execution. It's very buggy, and the color palette may be bland, but it's a massive achievement nonetheless. Stalker 2 has a ton of potential if they use this as a guide

A really neat roguelike. The characters are distinct and diverse, the runs evolve and don't get boring, and I think in many ways it's more charming than it's sequel.

Starwars bumps it up a full star. If this was a generic military theme I wouldn't particularly recommend it. With that in mind it's a very competent star wars tactical shooter in a franchise that deserves more then it's gotten out of some it's games. This is fun, far from perfect

Overwatch is interesting in that 1/4 of the cast is elite character design that makes the game fun and the other 3/4s aren't fun to play as or against. The queue system sucks, the cosmetic system sucks, and the game has managed to not improve much in 5 years despite constant updates. I've played and enjoyed the ride

The best tech demo/pack in game ever. A cultural touchstone and a showcase of whatafe the Wii so exciting. Still fun today

Best singleplayer content in the series by far. The courses are pretty consistently great, and karts control well.

A riotously fun 2D platformer in co-op, and a decent enough solo experience. Great level variety, fun secrets, fluid movement. A really strong 2D Mario.
