With Back 4 Blood, we all were expecting a next generation spiritual successor to the beloved L4d franchise, and instead they added pointless sprinting, and a ADS mechanic and called it something new.. back 4 blood feels like it tried hard to beat the l4d games, but instead lacked the fun optional side quests and mini games, the banter between survivors, the humoured tone to the world, and an atmospheric enviromen... The short beta story dragged.. and not in a good way. yes its a SOLID shooter, but an underwhelming attempt to match/beat what made these games great.. a race to each safe zone with a few hordes and maybe a boss, a confusingly pointless card system that had no noticeable difference in the pace of gameplay, sided with boring characters that take themselves too seriously. NOW.. i thought, hmm.. maybe the versus mode would save this underwhelming experience? NOPE.. instead of the beloved campaign runs with Player infected, you get a small box map that has a shrinking safe zone, over powered survivors with OP gear, and special infected thats health regens way to slowly, and hits like being slapped by a handicapped kitten on its death bed.. i wish this could've been great, i WISH this could've been a clone to l4d at the minimum with the chance of it beating our expectations.. but instead it left me craving that old feeling of the l4d franchise, and THIS IS NOT WORTH THE ASKING PRICE.. £20 at most.. your value shopper l4d.. im going back to l4d2, and getting the experience and feelings i wish this gave me.. some may say that "this is a beta, you're being to harsh.." but lets be honest my fellow gamers, todays beta's are the released versions of todays games, with certain content locked till release.. i went in with a very open mind, but was left bored, uninterested and underwhelmingly disapointed
