the pop-utopia futuria of much of the settings of this game, seen in other places like the moon kingdom in klonoa, is exactly the vibe here
discussed to death but still hits when you get there
a lot of this game visually deals with the unconscious projected onto the real in ways that are very deliberate and work incredibly well
haven't played this in over a decade but i remember this had the vibe
1 and 2, less so the sequels which move away from this vibe a bit imo
