Overall, it was a fun game with enjoyably weird characters. The story was poorly done, but it had decent world building, if poorly placed. The gameplay was really where this game shined.

It was okay, but it did suffer from having a buggy release.

Kasumi/Sumire is easily my least favorite character from a JRPG. She is my reason for dropping this game.

A hack and slash game that I really liked in some of its earlier versions, but as development progressed, I stopped enjoying the game as much.

Another great game in the series. Its story is good, but it can be too ambitious. There was an attempt at having a large cast of villains, but this resulted in the majority of them being shallow and forgettable. The story does, however, show a variety of views that sometimes challenge the views of the party and the player. Shania's arc really hit home on this point, but was held back by the majority of her reasoning behind her actions being locked behind a sidequest. Combat wise, the game is excellent. It managed to avoid the issue of healers being underwhelming that other games in the series had.

One of my favorite games of all time. I adore the cast, story, and gameplay. This game is not without its faults, however. Tora's characterization is often weird in a bad way. He does improve, but he never stops being an unfortunate case against the game. The blade gacha system is another down side. While it does add to replay value, it can be very frustrating to deal with.

One of my favorite games from the fire emblem series. It has a good story and introduces a few great new characters that were absent from the original Fire Emblem: Gaiden. Its main problems are the map design and relative lack of replayability. The maps are modernized but still very large, so you often end up running towards enemies for the first few turns.

This game marks the return of Octopath. While this game shares some of the flaws of the original, such as poor grinding and a disconnect between the different character stories, it has shown a marked improvement in a few key regards. Its stories are more cleanly connected to each other, and various systems were improved upon.
