I've dumped a stupid amount of time into this game and I feel like I'll be dumping a lot more into it once this review is done. There's clearly a lot of love and care put into this game and it's always heartwarming to see a passionate indie project flourish.
This is a game for people who are tired of wringing Slay the Spire for more content like a once-damp dishrag. Normal difficulty is intended for people who are fans of the game, after all. If you haven't played STS then... probably don't try this one first.
It's a ton of fun experimenting with builds. There's been more than a few times where I've dismissed a playstyle and then suddenly fallen in love with it.
The devs are actively tweaking some weaker-feeling items and cards and there are a few archetypes that feel undertuned, though that could be me not understanding their mechanics.
A huge sticking point is the price. It's a pretty steep tag when its older brother is not only cheaper but supports mods as well. Nigh infinite content VS developing content might not sit well on the palette.
I know the devs have said they can't go lower with the development costs (which I absolutely believe, since this game looks and sounds amazing), but it's a shame that potential fans are likely to be driven away by a hefty price tag.
If you think you'll like this game, get it. I think it deserves all the support it can get.

This feels a lot more exhausting to play than Vampire Survivors (in spite of runs being functionally capped ten minutes shorter than its inspiration).
There's never really a point where you get so stupidly broken you don't have to care anymore, which might sound interesting to some people, but it just kind of drains some of the fun out of the game for me. The balancing is really lopsided as well, with certain characters having harmoniously designed kits with solid intent while others are so disjointed that they barely function.
I also get approximately nothing out of the references. This is... not for me. There are more offensive ways to waste your time than playing this.
