2018

Surely one of the best rogue-likes ever made.

Damn, dude, Spyro is fun! I missed out on this as a kid, as I did not have a Playstation 1. This remaster is perfect. The levels feature a ton of replayability, and getting the platinum is rarely this appealing.

Absolutely outstanding game. But once I finished gawking at the way the wind blew in the direction of my objectives, I found it difficult to ignore the fact that it was just another open-world AAA game.

This game is every bit as good as they say it is. It's also long as sin, incredibly repetitive, and I didn't do one important thing during my run, so I got locked out of the entire Royal epilogue. Needless to say it left a sour taste in my mouth. I inquired about this on the Persona subreddit and was torn to absolute shreds by Ann Simps and Morgana Fursonas. "WHY DON'T YOU JUST PLAY IT AGAIN!?" they shouted at me, from a basement somewhere in the deep south, their puberty-stricken voices crackling and hissing with sheer, unbridled vehemence. "I dunno" I responded, "I guess I just don't have another 120 hours to spare".

What a genius bit of design work this is. And here I thought I wasn't into deck-builders.

Oh man. There is truly nothing like your first experience with Phas. Try to find a gaggle of friends who have never played it either, if you can. The game's downfall is that, once you understand it, it's difficult to resist the urge to "gamify" everything. But when you're all running around like chickens with your heads cut off, losing you absolute #*&$ when the unexpected happens.. it's so much fun, man. It's so much fun.

One of Playstation's greatest exclusives, period. Gloriously remastered.

WOW! Just wow. It might be argued that it's more of the same, but Miles's storyline is so worthwhile. And the improvements they've made on graphical fidelity and performance are totally noteworthy. The particle effects and the neon washed HDR lighting. My PS5 was just showing off for me, at this point.

Hook, line and sinker dude. Never played a Dark Souls title, though I loved both Bloodborne and Sekiro. I actually purchased the original Demon's Souls on PS3 - you know, back before it was cool. I was baffled by it. I tried to force my way through its never-ending labyrinth of pull-your-hair-out challenges. I didn't survive. I only got a few levels in. Picking it back up for PS5, though? Bluepoint's faithful remake is an absolute stunner. The combination of the gorgeous graphics and the smooth-as-eggs gameplay had me neck-deep in this thing from Day 1. I beat it 3 times and got the platinum. I couldn't stop. I love Fromsoft.

Greetings, PS5. Nice to meet you. Oh my goodness, are you tap-dancing on my palms? Ahahaha. Aheeheehee. I'm so glad to be an early adopter of this tech.

This is SUCH a fun shooter to play online with two friends. Holy smokes. Games like this are tragically scarce. I loved this one.

Hot take, I know. This game did amazing things for me, in the dark depths of the pandemic. I genuinely believe that game critics and "journalists" dog-piled on this one without giving it a fair shake or a second thought. It was cool to hate on Legion, just as it's cool to hate on much of Ubisoft's catalogue, and I'm here to say that the world is wrong this time.

I played on Hard, with Perma Death on. I'd sit down on a weekend, crack a beer, and settle into an all-nighter. I'd invent backstories for each operative as I picked them up. I'd journey all around London, a city that I have a ton of love for. I'd rip around in vehicles (which drive MUCH better than they did in the first game, I just want to get that out there) listening to the fantastic soundtrack.

I played on PC, and found that mouse and keyboard lent themselves very nicely to the unique combo of stealth, gunplay and hacking systems.

I don't know what to say, guys. I loved this game.
