while the actual roster is ridiculously large, it feels like a lot is missing from previous entries. collectibles are now just a bunch of pngs, the new singleplayer mode is largely just a series of npc battles with an added parameter, and a lot of other old singleplayer modes are just outright not here. that combined with online now being locked behind a paywall console-wide makes it really hard to say this is the Smash game, because as fun as it is to have "everyone," it feels like that's the only thing it has going for it

feels like a great extension of Kirby's core gameplay, with the animal friends adding additional complexity to abilities and putting more emphasis on traditional platforming that's usually less of a priority in Kirby. it also looks and sounds wonderful with Super Gameboy enhancements. would definitely consider a highlight of the platform.

generally pretty good. the level length feels like it varies a lot in some odd ways, and has some interesting spikes in difficulty, but it has a lot of interesting ideas for abilities (with some redundancy) and is very aesthetically pleasant. the main issue with it is slowdown that seems unavoidable with NES games when too many sprites are on-screen at once.
