Great Ace Attorney: Adventures-
I have a lot of mixed feelings on this first game looking back, the characters are good and do a good job of not being derivative of the original games cast, (Herlock Sholmes especially is one of the most entertaining characters in this franchise) the story, however, might have some of the worst pacing I’ve seen in this entire franchise, a lot of these cases feel like they go on for way longer than they need to be and they didn’t do a lot to invest me the whole way through, Even the ending which is usually the best part of each of these games feels severely underwhelming compared to the endings of the previous games, I had a lot of problems with Apollo Justices ending but at least that felt conclusive to the story of that game whereas this game feels like it’s setting up a better game that I don’t get to play yet. Overall, I did find myself invested in characters and even the story despite its deep flaws, and luckily the next game more than makes up for this game’s problems.

Great Ace Attorney: Resolve-
Holy shit this game is good, it improves on almost nearly aspect of the first and makes for possibly the most consistent game in this franchise in terms of quality. From minute one to minute done nearly every case in this game has a level of importance that the first game just doesn’t have, the characters are just as entertaining as before if not more so, but now they have a much more investing and entertaining storyline to go with them. The characters are some of the most entertaining in the series, the twists are quite literally explosive, and the puzzles and deductions just feel great, you feel like a genius for putting two and two together and unveiling these bastards for who they really are, it reminds of me of what made me fall in love with this series in the first place and it carries this duology so hard it might as well have scoliosis.
8/10 good game just don’t skip the first.
